Unfortunately one of the limiatations of a message board is that you lack body language, voice inflection and tone, etc. All of those clues that us humans use to ascertain the intentions of a person just don't exist here. I know in the past I've seen people misconstrue intentions...for sure. Definitely have seen it on both email and message boards. There's just nothing like talking in person! I've even experienced the same thing with one of my close friends. After that happened I just gave up and called her!!!
Email/message boards are great for their intended purposes, but definitely have limitations.
Glad that the OP found homes for the kittens! That is great! One other option to anyone who happens upon this thread is early spay/neuter for cats.
