nb or smalls?

I'm trying to decide if I should make some nb sizes or just skip right to smalls and then purchase a small nb lot that I can resell when I'm finished with them.
How long do nb sizes usually last in general? I can't remember when ds2 moved on to a small size as I ended up buying wonderoos, so don't know when I started moving snaps up. This time I would like to have some nb sizes though.
What has everyone else done? Oh, my boys were 6.9 and 7.2 so I figure this one will be small too. Both were pretty scrawny too for awhile.

We have a newborn stash of KL 0s... DS was 8 pounds and a super chunk when he was born (he was short) and he fit in them for 2-3 months. If your babies are on the smaller side I would look for a good used NB lot or purchase new and resell.

My dd was over 8 lbs and she fit into her NB Kissaluvs for 6 weeks, so definitely a good investment.

My kids ranged from 5 1/2 pounds to 7 1/2 pounds, so small. None of them would have been able to wear smalls from birth. They would have been up to their ears, and the legs would never have contained poo.

I would get the newborns, unless you anticipate a baby 9 pounds or bigger. All of mine were past 10 pounds before we needed smalls.

DD1 wore newborns for only three weeks, but the twins wore them for more than 2 months, and DD2 could have worn them longer.

I think mine wore NB's for about 6 weeks.

Wondering the same thing... except my two older one were over 9lbs at birth and over 11lbs by 3weeks!

Well, my 8lb, 11 oz boy has been wearing small pocket change pocket diapers since day 10 (when his cord came off). We also have a bunch of cheap NB prefolds that work really well still.

My dd is almost 11lbs at 5 wks and she still fits her nb sized dipes. I have monkey doodlez and some weeones fitteds. She was 8.11 at birth and still to skinny in the legs for most smalls. Plus the nb ones fit under the cord area and don't rub. Definitely worth it.

Mine fit in newborn sizes for about a month to six weeks before growing into smalls. I think it's worth it to have newborn sizes so they don't overwhelm the tiny one.

Ds3 is about 6lb 8oz & my newborn stuff is still too big for him.

This is from 2 nights ago, wearing a prefold & a cover that I made based on the NB Bummis Whisper Wrap. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b4...ids/diaper.jpg

My DD was 9lb2oz at birth, and is now about 12.5lbs at three months, and she's still wearing Kissaluv 0. She's just started wearing some small sized diapers, but they're big. I'd say NB dipes are deffinitely worth it!

3-4 weeks before we were swimming in smalls. 5-6 weeks before they fit good.

I think you will need nb size if your babies are that small.

Definitely nb if you have babes that small...they will be worth it. DS was a 10lber at birth and I had to really squeeze him into a KL0....I think depending on how long or short and what body type baby has nb size should probably last you a good 4-6 weeks. Perhaps even longer if the new baby doesn't gain too fast.

Yeah to what they said- DD wore her KLOs until she was almost 4 months old! Definately worth the price
