I'm getting peed on consistently. I've been trying to use BG 3.0 with both inserts. I guess the fit is not good enough for that because he pees out of the side he is sleeping on. Keller is 3 months old, long and skinny. He sleeps all night, just stirs when he wants to nurse but doesn't wake up. I'd like to be able to leave a diaper on him all night so I don't have to wake him. Is that wrong, bad or impossible? I need some good overnight suggestions.

I've had really good luck "assembling" a fitted:
either a ME Sandy or a Baby Beehinds diaper with
a tri-folded Hemp Babies Little Weeds (these are GREAT!)
a Swaddlebees Bamboo Doubler
a large piece of fleece to keep skin dry
followed by wool pants or soaker
With this combo I haven't had any leaks. Sometimes the exterior of the diaper itself isn't even damp. I'll usually put the diaper on around 8:00 - 9:00 pm and change it around 6:00am when DD wakes up.
Another mama on here also recommended Happy Hempies...these worked great for us, too. Good luck!

So I'm thinking the fit is the issue. I took out the inserts and they are not completely soaked like I would expect. I think the BG might just be too bulky at this point because he is so skinny. I have the tabs overlapped in the middle but I don't think that's enough.
I'd really like to try a different pocket, one that is sized. Any recs for a long skinny baby with bird legs? Maybe that in combination with different inserts will do the trick.

I think I'm also having trouble getting past the idea of wet against his skin all night. I used sposies for DS1, so I'm used to that mentality, KWIM? The BG and other pockets are appealing because they seem to draw the wetness into the inserts, like a sposie. Now, that said, we do use fitteds all day and the wetness never bothers his skin. So I get that. I just can't wrap my head around that for all night.

I tried wool (felted aristocrat and also longies) and dd peed right through it. I like it during the day but it never worked at night for us. This is what I do for my heavy-wetting side-sleeper:
Either a fitted with a doubler or two (I like Kissaluvs for this b/c I can overstuff them)
OR
Two prefolds laid one on top of the other and jellyrolled and Snappied on
WITH (and this is the key)
Dancing Bears Night Weight fleece soaker. This cover extends down the legs a little so it really contains the pee. When I tried to use a regular cover, like Thirsties or whatever, the inner gusset would wick pee onto her clothes. I have never had a leak with this system.

I hear your. I use AIOs (SposoEasy) during the day, but at night I use Earth Best Sposies... they hold up for 10 hours and DS sleeps on his side, too.
I have a couple of night stay dry doublers I found at green mountain diapers which are supposed to be able to keep my DS dry but haven't had the courage to try. Maybe you can try them
Lmk how they work if you do. http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/...#nightdoublers

If FIT is the issue, try a BSRB TIAN (Brand: Bagshot Row Bamboo; Type: Tucked In All Night). It's a fitted w/o snaps or velcro--you snappi it, so it's a PERFECT fit every time. Plus it is one size, so you never have to size up. I think they are $25 brand new if you can get one--but they are hard to get.
Also check into the Very Baby Simply Nights, or the Very Baby Basic Nights. I think these have a stay-dry liner. But they are sized, and run $29-35 depending on size.
I have two of the BSRB overnights on the way (not the TIAN--the pre-TIANs) and can't wait to use them. I am so sick of sposies at night! (And BGs never worked overnight for us, he pees out of them in 2 hours)
