I think this would be very helpful for we trying to decide when, what and even IF we will vaccinate our kids. For instance, my 16 mo son has severe allergies. Would this trait be an indicator of a higher sensitivity to vaccines? Mt reasoning may be off, but since allergies are result of immune response, wouldnt these be related? He has not had any shots since his 6 mo appt. At the 4 mo shots, he was fine but after a week he started a 6 week long bout of diarreha and did not gain any weight for the next appt. At the time I was not researching anything so I did not put the two together (it may be unrelated, I will never know).

It may be unrelated, but there are several people on the Allergies board that feel that their childrens' allergies were triggered by vaccination.
And I feel that my son would've had problems if he had been vaccinated, his immune system was very, very weak.
I don't know of statistics on the likelihood of severe reactions, in the past various vaccines (I think mostly DPT) were contraindicated when a family member had had adverse reactions, but over time there are fewer and fewer contraindications.

So something to definitely think about. Yes I do wish there was universal testing to see which individuals are more susceptible. For example, we know now that mitochondrial disorder can trigger vaccine injury, yet kids are not routinely tested for it before given vaccines.

I believe my son's allergies and eczema are connected to vaccinating, yes. I also wish there were some kind of database to tell which individuals are more susceptible than others. Many people with autoimmune disorders have talked about "flare ups" after a vaccine. There are moms here on Mothering whose children have broken out in head to toe eczema after the DTaP, which has milk (casamino acids) in it. The connection , The temporal association in these cases is so clear, it is amazing that doctors will sit there and say they are unrelated. Ditto on seizures and other neurological events related to vaccines.
