Simple, non-commercial-detergent wash routine?

Can anyone share with me your simple, non-commercial-detergent based wash routine for diapers? I'd like specific details as to amounts and process.

*I'm thinking more along the lines of baking soda/borax/etc, rather than homemade detergents

I have used just baking soda with great results.

Prewash cold with one cup white vinegar.

Hot soak into hot wash with 1 cup baking soda.

Two cold rinses.

This worked well for us but I had to do the soak to get out stains.

Get big bags of baking soda from warehouse stores or pool stores.
