Velcro catching?

I noticed on the thirsties covers that I bought in preparation for our baby that you can fold the velcro in so the catchy part isn't exposed. For those who use covers like that, does that prevent catching in the laundry?

Sort of helps. This is one of the downfalls of velcro in my opinion. Even with laundry tabs, the velcros still catch on each other and fill with lint. The laundry tabs help, but do not prevent these troubles. I think it's really unavoidable with velcro!

I've been buying more and more stuff with snaps, but for covers, I still like the velcro (aplix, really), because I feel it gives me the best fit.

Ok, thanks. I bought about half snap, half velcro covers.

blue penguin has solved that problem with their AIOs Sposo Easy. On that same line of thought, you could buy a strip of velcro at the dollar store and cut it to cover the hard velcro tabs so only the fuzzy velcro would be exposed during wash, thus no catching. Remove them after the wash or as you go.

I haven't tried it myself, but it might be worth a try.
