I've heard that... but what worked for me was accupuncture. I was being induced because of insulin-dependent gestational diabetes... and my cervix was not ripe at all one week before my inducement. I saw an accupuncturist two days before I was scheduled to go into the hospital... and by the time I entered, I was already 2 cm dialated. I progressed very quickly, and pitocin was not needed until near the end when my contractions slowed down due to an epidural.

Anyway... pineapple, walking, sex, evening primrose oil/borage oil... it's all good!
