Daily Show/Colbert

Why don't we have a thread for this already? Do we? Am I missing something?

Anyone want to watch and discuss with me?

Oh, big fan!! I just don't watch it daily. Looove Colbert, smart guy. I ROFL watching his "White house correspondents" Dinner speach a while back.

Same goes for Stewart. That was one mindsaver in the dark era- I loved the election day coverage, when they went up on the roof- seeing the sun for the first time in 8 years.

I watch both every night. I'll hang out in this thread with ya! I usually fall asleep in the middle of Colbert, after The Word, though, which is usually around 11:45pm for me. I try and try to stay awake, but I never make it to midnight. I saw Colbert on the Today show yesterday and he was so funny!

Jon Stewart is brilliant! Not only is he hilarious, but his interviews are always so smart and interesting. I have a huge crush!

I like the Daily Show, but I LOVE Colbert! I've read his book 3 times and it's awesome. His show makes me laugh yet still gives me the low-down. The Daily Show is a bit more informative, though.

We watch it when it airs the next night at 8pm because we can't stay up until 11pm

In his "know a governor" bit he told the governor "you are so boring" "Walking talking Ambien" "a manilla folder on a beige wall" ROTFLMAO!!

Love it...must get that book!

I actually like Jon Stewart better than Colbert... but Colbert is funny, too.

I know everyone has seen it, but the DS bit about CNBC was one of the more brilliant peices of media, comedy or otherwise, I have seen in a very long time.

I'm in love with both shows. They are my primary source of no BS news.

I love them both and when I grow up I want to marry Stewart LOL.

I love them both too. My 2 year old nephew loves Colbert for some reason. It's really cute. LOL. My sis said that he gets really excited when he hears the music for the show.

Dh is watching The Daily Show right now while I post on here. We had a bunch of shows DVR'd because SIL was visiting last week. I need to catch up.

I love Colbert, but I admit to having stopped watching the Daily Show a while back. Perhaps they've switched back, but for a while they seemed to be leaning a little more crude than clever and that's not really my thing.

we are HUGE fans of the daily show! i *heart* jon stewart! lol! we watch the colbert report too sometimes.....and sometimes we just can't stay awake any longer!

on a side note: my husband's younger brother's best friend from high school (wow, say that 3 times fast! lol!), charlie savage, wrote a book on politics (and has done a bunch of other stuff in his 33 years of life....including winning the pulitzer prize! lol!) and was a guest on the colbert report (a few years ago). my brother-in-law accompanied his friend for the appearance and said that stephen colbert is one of the nicest guys.

I told DH that if I ever left him, it would be for Stephen Colbert or Conan O'Brien

Love these shows. I only watch The Colbert Report when I catch it live, but we DVR The Daily Show. In fact, a big part of the reason we switched cable companies was so we could finally get TDS during the 2008 election. :

I know Jon Stewart likes to say he's just a comedian, but he has done some incredible reporting. Most other networks will have two guys arguing "Pelosi said this!"....."No she didn't!"....."Yes she did!"....."No she didn't." Stewart just cuts the BS and shows the actual 3-year-old clip. I love it when he plays old clips of politicians or pundits completely contradicting themselves.

I both shows. I watch them on the web rather than staying up so late, though.

No crushes allowed. They're actually old enough that I can have crushes on them and it's not creepy. (Stewart is only one year younger than I am; Colbert is three years younger.) Save them for me, k?

I love both shows as well. I was literally rolling on the floor laughing at a rerun last night. It was about peta/shmeat. Dh was like um, you must be really tired.

I like the Daily Show more than the Colbert Report. It keeps me sorta-informed of American politics and introduced me to some good authors. It is on a bit late for me since I got a new job.
