Windfall! What do I want to do with it?

We announced the pregnancy to my "second mom" the other day and her response was to give her a shopping list and she'd buy everything we need/want. And I do mean EVERYTHING.

So what do I need? I was planning on mostly prefolds with some Disana Tie Nappies mixed in - should I stick with that, since that will last longer than most fitted?

My requirements:
Natural fibers, no poly, no PUL
Organic
I prefer snaps, pins or ties, don't much care for hook & loop

I have no input really... but WOW!! How generous of her

Prefolds won't last longer than one-size fitteds. The Disana Tie Nappies would last longer than prefolds since they're one-size. I love my GMD prefolds. If you get the yellow edge (skipping the orange edge) they should last until 4-5-6+ months, but they will be huge on a newborn.

Also, for covers are you just going to use wool?

Yeah. Wool, and we'll also be EC-ing, so baby will be without a cover around the house a lot of the time.

I would do wool and some organic prefolds if it were me. Maybe a fitted or two for outtings as they are quick and easy.

What a lovely and generous gift.
I received 6 dozen prefolds (cheapy) at my first baby shower. It was the very best gift I got!

If you are looking for other options, I really like SugarPeas hemp fitteds...they are organic and come in 2 sizes. I like that because for me they fit better than a one-size diaper, but you don't have to buy them in 3 or 4 sizes, just 2...

I've recently fallen in love w/ Luxe pull on wool covers

other things you might want : org cotton baby legs, wool baby legs (made in VT ) , swaddlebees side snap wool covers, loveybums lio's, wool moisture pad for your bed, some doublers (I like swaddlebees hemp). I also really like swaddlebees stuffable fitteds.

I have some of the new loveybums pull up wool covers on the way. They are super soft & super cute w/ just a t-shirt.

I only wish I'd found them sooner DD is almost a year

How about some of the new BG Organic with snaps
And some BSRBs (Bagshot Row Bamboo)--they're stalked, though, so it'll take you 9 months to get enough but they are organic bamboo, one size, and lovely
And if someone's buying you gotta get some crankypants!!

totally second the Luxe pull on wool. Jesse was the trend setting of the crowd and continues. Luxebaby remains a solid, excellent choice in covers. Can't believe I have forgotten to mention them before.

I really liked Loveybums wool crepe wraps - soft as butter, medium fits a big range (9-22 lbs), colors are beautiful, just great! Also she makes organic fitteds that are also great.
