What else??

We announced the pregnancy to my "second mom" and she told me to give her a shopping list, she'd buy us everything we need/want.

So what do I need/want?

I already have a Moby Wrap, a RS, and 2 Snuglis

Is a snugli like a baby bjorn?

I'd get an Ergo.

I had a Snugli and hated it. I switched over to a hip hammock and then a Mei Tai.

I'm not real familiar with a baby bjorn. But a Snugli is a formed pack carrier, with buckles. Much more mainstream than a wrap or a RS - they're made by Evenflo if that tells you anything.

I'd ask an Ergo or Beco to replace the snugli's. You'll be amazed at the difference in comfort!

Actually, I never would have bought them if it were my choice. They were a gift. Do I need an Ergo or a Beco if I have a Moby and a RS?

It sounds like a snugli and bjorn are basically the same.

An ergo or beco will give you more comfort, more versatility, and you can use one through toddlerhood. They are both similar. We have an ergo and love it. DH and I both use it.

ETA: I have a moby and a ring sling as well. I like having variety for different purposes. The ergo is great for long term carrying, and the moby has been nice for an infant but I don't think I'll be able to use it when DS gets heavier. I use the ring sling for popping in and out of places, like when I'm running errands. I can easily nurse DS in it while I'm running about. I have a mei tai as well, but it is a heavy fabric so I don't know that I'll get much use out of it since we live in a warmer climate than we used to.

I would say yes. I mean, you could get by using the Moby with a tiny baby and a ring sling later on, but it's really nice to have a soft-structured 2 shoulder carrier as they get heavier: like 4-6+ months. Plus, you can do back carries (possibly with a ring sling but not as secure or comfy) and wear baby for long periods of time. I use both an Ergo and Beco with my 30 lb almost 2 year old. I've put him on my hip in a ring sling for short periods of time but it leaves my shoulder aching and I can't be entirely hands-free with how wiggly he is.

I agree on adding a soft structured carrier such as Beco, Pikkolo or Ergo to your stash.

To me, the Beco and Pikkolo vary from the Ergo.
Beco (Butterfly, that is) has an internal seat and Pikkolo can forward face out like the Bjorn and snuggly, except in much more ergonomic position for carrier and the baby.

I say add a mei tai. they are great for nb - toddlers, are easy to put on, super comfy & easy to nurse in. We have 2 of these http://www.babyhawk.com/ one w/ my fabric & 1 w/ DH's. We love them!!!!

I don't know much about snuglis, but if they're the hanging by the crotch type I personally would not use them. From what I have read they are not great for babe's spine.

Totally get an Ergo! They are much different from a RS and a Moby. I still carry my 2.5 year old in her Ergo, and have been using it since she was a little baby. RS and Moby are great for newborns, though.

mei tai they are wonderful

I love my buckle tai from Two Mommas Designs. I just got it a couple weeks ago, and I wore dd in it for at least 3 hours this weekend, and we were so comfy. I even nursed her in it twice. Plus I picked out the fabric and features, so it's custom for me!

What about a woven wrap? I don't have kids yet, but I think that will be the FIRST thing I get. That and a rebozo type (ok, so I already have a rebozo, and plan on getting another, for a scarf/midwifery/other things use) one. just interested to see that they didn't come up in anyone's suggustions.

I would not get any of those and invest in a woven wrap like a Storchenweige or a Diddymos! If you are not positive you will love wrapping I would get a Gypsy Mamma Bali Breeze and a Beco. You really don't need 4 carriers with one kid until you know what type of carriers you love then you will need more than four. I have 5 and just got a new Diddymos in the mail 2 minuets ago! lol
