September 2004 Mommies - Page 2

I'll be in one place or the other soon -- I wondered what "2ww" means, what a wonderful support! It's driving me crazy. I am too cheap to buy a test yet, so I am waiting to see what happens this weekend. My LMP was December 7th and my cycle is usually 27 days long. I got that due date from some ovulation calendar I found on-line -- who knows if it's accurate.
Thanks for the welcome! I hope to be an official member soon, although the timing would be a bit awkward -- our lease is up at the end of August and we are planning to buy a house then. Happy New Year, ladies, and congratulations!

hello,
i havent posted on mothering in quite awhile, but having just found out i am pg (with a hysterectomy scheduled for feb 10th, well thats called off now!) with number 3 i thought i would jump back in with both feet. i have had 2 miscarriages in the last year and a couple of surgeries for severe endo and had one ovary and tube removed. a couple of months ago they found a mass on my ovary and were sure that i would never be able to get pg again. well surprise!
i am due sept 2nd (at least until the ultrasound) and am very happy to be here!

Hi Everyone,
Saw this thread and said "hey that's me!" I have a 2.5 year old son and I'm due with #2 September 3.

I got to say, I've been thinking about the hot summer ahead for all of us too. My son was born in April and I remember feeling hot then! Yikes... So far no morning sickness. I've been very hungry though, as in I've already gained a couple pounds. I just can't stop thinking of food, especially salt. I've been trying to have some self control though, since I noticed the weight gain. I've also been pretty tired.....other than that everything seems okay. I'm going in to see our midwife next week.

Anyway, glad to be here and meet everybody!

Kaelyn...hi!! This is my fifht pregnancy..fourth baby....nice to see some "multiple mamas" here!!

Melissa...I have spent SOOO much $$$$ on tests, my husband says now that I am finally preg, we can afford that new car!!

Branwyn...Congrats! What a surprise, my sister was a surprise like that too...my mom went in for tests to get ready for her hysterectomy...SURPRISE!! ANd my mom only had one Overy and half a fallopian tube at that time.....

Shannon...take it easy, sounds flu-y to me. We can't take echinacea, right?

Andrea...hello!! I have one in April too...but my July baby was KILLER. And she was a month early. So..I don't know HOW I plan on getting through the summer!! I saw the MW today, she commented on the fact that I am gaining weight..uh-oh!!

Okay, I think that is everyone!! I am so looking forward to getting to know all of you...although I have to say, I have special fondness for Shannon..my 9 DPO partner!!

Hi September Moms
I've been keeping up to date with you all out of curiosity. I just thought I'd say hey and congratulations to the new mommies!! I love that drive by. I literally laughed out loud after I got it. (it took me a second though--I've been a little slow with pregnancy brain.)
Well my hungar attacks really kicked in today. I get hungry all of a sudden and need food NOW!!! Also when I am pregnant I don't often like to cook. So we end up eating out alot...not the best.

Anyways, I ordered pizza tonight to tame my hunger.....and order 3 more Larges to stay in the freezer for the next attack. :LOL ahhh pregnancy!! Ya gotta love it!

I am jumping in!
After lurking around the boards for ages, this thread is forcing me to climb aboard! I just found out I am expecting baby #3 on 9-14-04, by my own calculations. I have two boys ages 4 and 6, but also a long history of multiple miscarriages, so I am bit nervous here. We seem to have no problem getting pregnant (this one was after two months of trying) but a bigger problem staying pregnant.
But I hope to feel some support here as we all go through this together! I feel a little reluctant to tell anyone else in the real world yet...
Looking forward to a long nine months here!

Ooohhh....well, if Shannon and I are still hanging out in 2ww, I guess you all can hang out here!!

Hi butternut....I know how you feel, I am anxiously awaiting my last hormone results....

Hope everyone is well, still no cravings or sickness, but my boobs are KILLING me!!!!

I know how you feel as well Butternut, I have had one not so early m/c and one very early (day after an early faint )
My doc's appt is on monday afternoon, so I imagine I'll have results for the first level either tuesday or wed morning (I know my doc is usually off tuesdays-damn!
My sickness seems to have diminished, I'm wondering if I didn't have a touch of the flu. Now I'm just plain starving--and I mean starving!!!! for the past couple days I have out eaten dh, who is one of the obnoxious 145 stick boys who never stops eating! Oddly though, no weight gain, so I guess that's because of the increased metabolism. (either that or my scale will betray me in a few days!!) My boobs are beyond sore!!! I read on another thread about using cabbage leaves stuffed in your bra--anyone ever tried it?? I'm exhausted but also not sleeping for some reason. It's funny, last time, I had a stuffed nose, major vaginal discharge and terrible constipation (as well as m/s and tired) This time though, not nearly as bad for any of those things, I hope that's alright--I know I know, every pregnancy is different......

Shannon--I have nothing. NO signs at all (except the boob thing). And my hormones are going up (THEY ARE THEY ARE THEY ARE)......

I know you will feel better when you get your results back...I am waiting for Monday!!

I think if I have any weight gain it can only be in my boobs! Or maybe they just feel huge because they are so sore...
Shannon, I am also starving but with the main problem being that I am super hungry and yet nothing sounds right. I semem to be spending a lot of time hanging around in the kitchen, hoping to find something which will still my hunger.

Caroline- just curious, when will you tell your older children? My boys have been talking about wanting a baby (preferably a girl, they say) for quite some time without even knowing we had decided to try for a third (we were very leary after the last miscarriage in may 2002 and then life situation changed so much we had to wait to decide).

Hey Butternut,
Yah know, the stuff that is satisfying me is just NOT what I would normally eat. I will puke if I smell beef, to the point that while making dh's lunch for work tonight, I threw up twice making his roast beef sandwhich!:Puke
Oddly enough, I have had ribs and wings TWICE in the past 10 week at our local pub that we love. I generally eat that once or twice a year and can NEVER finish it! I eat all the meat, most of the veggies, but have NO interest in the fries--and I'm a total french fry nut! I usually love cheese and still do but the thought of it melted turns me right off. But essentially, PORK and lots of it, that's all I want!! Iv'e had the ribs, bacon, sausage and tonight Ham steaks. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!

Oh my...melted cheese is doing me in!!! The thought of a cheese burger....gross!!!

Butternut..my almost 9 year old knows. He overheard us talking and came up to me and said "All I can say, if there is another baby, it better be a boy". My kids really want another baby too!! How old are your kids??

Oh cheeseburger--yuk--that has beef and melted cheese!!! I actually found something else that 's working for. I don't know if they are everywhere, I assume they are, but the "fruit to go" they are dried mashed fruit with no added suger, satisfys my want for chewy, easy and sweet--and it's still good for me--yeah!!
Having some cramping today, but right down low, kinda feels like my urethra may be spasming more than a cramp. Feeling fine otherwise though.
So how is everyone this morning??
S-oh, my. I had not felt the least bit queasy yet yet until I read of your meat orgies! Sorry! I am a vegetarian (18 years, which makes me 36 in case you were wondering!) and the thought of meat especially now turns my stomach. On the other hand, I had not realized that I am definitely at that place because I have been wanting "meaty" items--salty, not sweet with a bit of chew to them. My sister, also a veg, ate chicken from Burger King at least once during each of four pregnancies. Must be something about protein.
C- my boys are 4 and 6. They have friends with babies in the family and are very interested in general. Of course, they probably know more than I give them credit for so maybe they are talking about it because they have picked up on dh's and my attempts to talk in codes. Can't get anything past them, I suppose! We did not tell them of the last two pregnancies which ended in miscarriages, except that I was sick and very sad. I will tell them one day. I have to think about this as to when to tell them now. How do you ever get over this fear? I think I am feeling right now that pregnancy has a lot to do with giving up control and accepting miracles into your life.
S- you're throwing up! That is great! I think I am waiting for those really great signs to kick in.
C- did you feel any different with boys and girls, symptom-wise?

Okay, maybe a naive question, but are you two getting your hormone levels checked? Is this normal for your prenatal care? Or is this due to previous miscarriages? I live in another country right now and I will not even see my midwife until about week ten.

Hope you are all feeling well...and we get some more mammas soon with us!

Butternut..I am getting my hormone levels monitered for two reasons. I had a MC in May which was a progesterone issue. Now this pregnancy my hCG was on the low side. I get the results from the last blood draw tomorrow, and if all is well, then I am good.

I was definatly more sick with my girls. I carried differently with all of them, my weight gain was all over the place. The only difference was the level of morning sickness. With my son, I was sick after I ate the wrong thing..not too bad. With my girls, the second my stomache wasn't full, I was really sick. That sucked!!

Hi girls! I'm here, I'm here, sorry to be absent, I've been on vacation and can hardly catch up. I haven't even read all the posts here, but wanted to hop in. I'll really catch up when dh returns to work on Monday. I'm due around 9/5. Gotta run, be back soon.
