P sling substitues?

Is there anything out there at all similar to the P Sling? Something light, linen like, in great colors (esp that graduation color they sell?). I've wanted one for years but well, I'm way too broke to spend $200-300 + on a sling. I do see that their colors are $150, but they don't seem to have a lot of stock.

you can get linen ring slings in solid colors from sleepingbaby.net but of course they're not gradation dyed.

have you been on thebabywearer.com ? depending on how much you have to spend, you can pick up p-slings used pretty often and definitely for cheaper than their retail price. or you might also consider buying a length of linen and paying someone to do a gradation dye job for you. making it into a ring sling is the easy part, you could do it yourself, or send it off to Jan at sleeping baby and she could slingify it for you. of course, depending on what you paid for the linen, the dye job, and the slingification, it might be just as costly as buying a used p-sling.
