Is there a specific technique for using nipple stimulation to bring on or speed up labor? Are you supposed to do it a certain way, or for a certain amount of time? If anyone's done this, do you think it worked for you?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I used a breast pump until I felt the contraction coming on then I stopped cause it hurt! So I would do it until you feel like you want to stop.
It definitely increased the intensity. I already had broken waters and was in early labor when I tried it. I went into active labor a little later. I wouldn't have wanted to do it in active labor though but very good for getting things going or if things are stalled.
I hope that helps.

I rolled my nipples between my fingers for about 30 seconds and then rested for a minute or two. You want to be careful not to hyperstimulate, as that can bring on hard contractions from the get go, evidently.
I did it and it worked like a charm for me at 41w2d, but remember that unless your babe is ready to come, it may not be fruitful for you just yet.
