Why am I not having any show?

Second baby, contracting every 5 minutes for over a minute for about 3 hours. Requires stopping and focusing. BOW intact, lost plug Friday afternoon, and no show. Sure baby is LOA.

Why am I not having any show? I'm confused.

Not everyone gets noticeable show--I assume you mean bloody show?

Some don't get much show until closer to complete dilation. I'd say the 'average' time to see show is 3-4 cms.....but I've seen it far sooner, and I've seen it far later.

Any changes yet?

happy birthing!

I don't know how dilated I was (no exams in labor) but I didn't have any show, mucus or anything until about an hour and a half before birth. I was really needing to "cope" too...like I would *never* have been able to be online typing. I remember thinking the same thing, though, "why is there no show or anything....I'm really working here!!!"
So I think it definitely doesn't mean that you're not moving along!!
happy *birth*day to you!

I had a small amount with DD1, nothing with DD2 during the entire labor or before.

Thanks guys - I did birth my daughter at about 8 this morning and it was as you guys said, almost no show until pushing. I just wasn't prepared for that! My first birth, the labor BEGAN with show.

Congrats on your new little one! :

I've never actually had bloody show when I have gone into labor on my own. I had some bloody mucous when I have taken black and blue cohosh or had a ve but never upon entering labor. Not even late in labor or when my water breaks. I do get tons of 2nd stage mucous but no blood.

I never noticed a show with my 2nd, which means it must have happened pretty late, I was 6cm when I got to the delivery room, having not seen anything. With my first I only had the slightest bloody show.

Congrats on the new baby!

Also another mama with no "show" until pushing with my 2nd babe. With DD1, it was the first sign active labor was going to begin, so I really didn't believe I was in labor with #2! (I was wrong!)
