What do OPKs show when not Oing?

If you're in a fertile cycle, but are NOT approaching ovulation, will an OPK show anything? I'm familiar with what makes a positive versus negative OPK, but am wondering if you would get faint lines throughout your cycle when in a fertile pattern, or if the lines go away completely at some point.

FWIW, I'm still awaiting PPAF and occasionally test with OPKs in hopes of figuring out if there's anything going on. So far, absolutely no second lines at all. I think my body's beginning to gear up (DS is nearly 18mo now!), so I'm all the more curious.

Thanks!

Most women will get some sort of line all cycle, as LH is always present in small amounts (except during one's surge when it increases dramatically). There can be days when it is very faint and hardly discernible, as well you could have very low levels that are not quite enough for your brand of OPK to pick up.

Thanks for the info! That's pretty much what I expected. Glad to know what's going on!
