Mal - Congratulations on your graduation! : You must be so excited! And I hope your day is going well today with those extra LOs!

Its so hard with your first...I know with my 4...they are so sooo different!

My first did so much stuff early! Got teeth early (go her first two a week shy of 3 months, sat early, crawled early, walked early....and then talked really, really late...it was so stressful! She is my most clumsy and academically gifted child!

My second, did everything really late, got teeth really late and out of the normal order...he didn't have a tooth until 17 months! didn't sit till almost 9 months, didn't walk until 19 months, crawled at 12 months, etc. He talked at 18 months! It was crazy! He is most most kinestetic child...even though he did all his gross motor things late...he could do the monkey bars without help by age 2! You should see him dance...he is awesome!

My third was dead on mile stone wise, sat at 6 months, first tooth at 7 months, crawled at 8, walked at 12, etc. She is my most gifted fine motor kido...she can do very intricate things with her hands already at age 2, beading, writing, etc.

My first was bang on with all his milestones too. A little bit of a late talker but he signed phenomenally so we weren't worried. Now you can't get him to shut up lol.
Delia's already doing a few things early so we'll see.
Anybody else having sleep issues these days. We've hit a speedbump. I'm typing while standing with her in the wrap. She hasn't slept all day for more than 30min. It took 3 hrs to get her down last night and she finally ended up in the swing

Is anyone else losing major amounts of hair? I clogged up my brand new vacuum cleaner I'm losing so much. I know it's normal but ewww.

When do babies discover their voices? I think Makenna is starting get louder...not sure if she knows the sound is coming from her or not?

ds wakes up every 2-3 hours. We just moved dd to her own room (very exciting!), so we'll see how that goes. Otherwise, he is growing like crazy! He's about to grow out of 9 month clothes at 2.5 months old!

9 month clothes at 2.5 months!? What a healthy girl. My DD is on the smaller side but I'm trying not to worry. She's in the 25% for weight at 3 months so that's fine.

She only wakes once, maybe twice, a night now. She also slept from 9-5 two times last week, which freaked me out.

I'm stressed over her refusal to take a bottle lately. We start with the nanny this week so I can begin studying for the Bar Exam and this may be a huge problem.

On a side note, we just purchased the BOB stroller and I'm so excited. You know, it's things like a durable stroller that make me happy these days. . .

Ugh - yes to the first question. I think I've clogged the shower, it's not draining well

And for the second question, I'm not sure about 'when' but I would say that Royce definitely has, and he's 4 months tomorrow. He is so chatty now! I love it, it's adorable. And sometimes when I'm singing to him he'll just start going on and on, it's like he's trying to sing with me

Royce is also desperate to sit up, but the balance just isn't there yet. It's funny because I'll hold him in a sitting up position, and then when I lay him back down he tries to sit back up and get's all red faced in the process. I really can't wait for him to sit on his own.

Heinz: DD was 25% for height and weight at her 3 month check up. No worries...someone's gotta be there. I looked at my baby book and I was 25% for weight then and 75% for height!

dd is 2.5 months old now and finding her voice. she sounds like a "special" child when she talks. that's how dh describes it anyway. she talks the same way whether she's happy or fussing. either way, it makes me laugh. she also must talk with her eyes squinty and nose scrunched up. i swear, no one makes me laugh like she does!

along with her voice she has found her squeal (she was having a blast with this during church today) and has figured out she can get my attention by making the motorboat sound.

she is also rolling onto her side, trying very hard to get on her belly. it makes her so mad right now! i'm afraid she'll be mobile very early. i was, walked at 8 months old.

Ramsey is 3 months this week. He's also in the 25% for his weight, but over the 95% for his height. He's long!
We met another 3 month old baby in church this week...he was 17 lbs! Breastfed! Made Ramsey look like a chihauhua...poor guy.

Ramsey is so...energetic. He was a bit cranky today...and just moving all the time. He's trying hard to roll over. I've started regularly putting him on his tummy and he really enjoys it- he can really control his head and get it quite high. He's desperate to stand, if you hold him standing on your lap he'll refuse to bend his body to set or sit him down. I also pulled out the exersaucer yesterday- I know it's too early, but he loves to stand. He enjoys it, at least for a short time. I feel like he loves the challanges of moving his muscles, he's very physical. I didn't feel this way about the other kids, and Axel was an extremely high energy toddler. I think I might be in for it!

Ramsey's getting a bit better with handling my letdown; still favours the left breast but I've figured out a way of laying him over my lap to nurse on the right. He absolutely refuses to nurse on the right side when we're out.

Nights are good. I'm so glad I have him in bed; he's not a cuddly baby during the day so I'm thankful to have that closeness.

I'm actually not losing hair yet- it's surprising.

YES! Oh my gosh. It's horrible. I keep clogging up the shower drain. Sigh!

I don't seem to be losing as much hair this time (knock wood). It's really long (middle of my back) so it's gonna be a mess if it starts.

Anthony just figured out how to use his hands a bit. I use the bucket seat when we're out and about so I have somewhere to put him down for a bit, and there's a string of those plastic links on it-he was able to get it up to his mouth for the first time a couple days ago. Today in the baby tub, he got his feet off the little mesh hammock thing and kept pushing with them, arching his back and sloshing water all over the kitchen counter. He (and the big kids) thought it was hillarious, me not so much.

Queen of My Castle - your Ramsey sounds like my dd who is also just 3 months (except she's 18lbs and almost 25in). She does the stiff baby when we try to set/sit her down. She kicks like crazy in the bath and in her rocker seat. She can stand up off my lap by herself mostly. She's rolling onto her side and is sooo angry that she's stuck there. When I lay her on her tummy she can push herself forward with her legs a little ways. It's so crazy! Her head control is amazing. My son was not this active this early. I was thinking about pulling out the exersaucer too but I thought I'd give it 2 more weeks.
She is grabbing things and hanging onto them now and she's so smiley.
She is still very demanding and if things don't happen instantaneously when she wants them too i.e. boob in mouth, she shrieks at the top of her lungs. She's a drama queen lol.

nice to catch up with all of you and the babies. They all seem to be right on for what my little girl is doing. The cutest thing is her love of her feet. she likes me to hold her in a sitting position so she can stare at her feet.

I'm stumped on her name. I love her name but i keep thinking she looks like an Imogen. I think I am going to keep wieghing that desicion out for the next couple of weeks and see what happens. sometimes I call her Juno sometimes I call her Imogen.

Makenna discovered how to make the raspberry sound 2 days ago...it's been non stop ever since. Even popping off the breast to make raspberries. I can't stop laughing at her! :-) So precious. I took video of it today for the grandmothers. She's sooo much more interactive now.

I started putting her in the exersaucer this week with blankets around her to help prop her up. She seems to like the stuff and can sort of play with everything. Smiles and grabs at the things...sometimes just looks like she's thinking really really hard about it. LOL.

Royce slept from 9:30 until 4 last night!!! That is by far the longest stretch I have ever got! I hope it continues. Now if only I could get him to do a small stretch without me next to him

Owyn rolled over yesterday! I baby sit a baby who is 4 weeks older than her and she has been working on rolling over, so of course Owyn had to start trying too. She gets on her side and gets distracted by eating her hands. Yesterday, my mom was over and sort of helped nudge her onto her belly and she was hooked! She was even lifting her head up real high which she has never tried to do before, just turns it to the side and eats her hand.

Well, after my mom left, she was really working at it and rolled over all by herself!! She's been doing it all morning today! She gets upset because she doesn't really like being on her belly but loves to roll over. She gets really pissed at me when I put her back on her back. She just can't decide! She isn't even 3 months old yet, I'm just amazed at her.

Then, this morning, my baby sitting girl rolled over! I'm debating whether or not to tell her parents about it, I don't want to take that joy of seeing the first time away from them. She is their first baby too, so I'm wondering if I should just keep it to myself and let them see her do it... How would you mamas feel??

Sidenote: last night sucked. She falls asleep around 8 every night, but I have to hold her or lay on the couch with her until I go to bed because she wakes up by herself. Weird because during the day she naps by herself just fine for 2-3 hours at a time... Well, last night, I tried laying her down again. I held her for a good 45 minutes to make sure she was out. She slept for about an hour by herself. Just as we headed to bed, she woke up and was awake until midnight! This is particularly sucky because I now have to get up extra early for my baby sitting kids. Then, she was awake this morning at 5:30 ready for the day! I'm expecting a sleepy baby today considering she usually sleeps from about 8-7 with small eating breaks throughout the night.
