About preping diapers

The instructions said it needs 3-4 washes. Does that mean I have to dry 3-4 times also (I have to use the coin machines for that) or can I wash them 2 times then dry, then wash a next 2 times and dry?

If you are using prefolds, I would suggest boiling them first and then washing and drying once.

You don't need to dry them in between! Just wash them in the hottest possible water (even add a kettle of boiling water if you can) several times, and then dry.

With my new prefolds I do wash, wash, dry, wash, wash, dry and it seems to work really well. Enough so that they're usable and they continue to quilt up really well after use and subsequent washes.

thanks, The flats came out fine, they are bigger than the ones I had w/ DS.

I had first wash w/ dreft but got a new detergent. I did wash wash dry, wash dry and they seem fine. It will have to do, as I am waiting for this little one to come out since my water broke on Friday.
