pails?

What are you using for a diaper pail? I have a pink liner bag, but I don't have the pail anymore.

I have a 8 Dollar bucket from Walmart with a Snap on lid. I can put about 20 diapers in there and wash every three days.

I use a 13-gallon plastic garbage pail with a lid...it has a foot pedal to lift the lid. I bought it at Target.

I use two medium sized rubbermaid containers - one for covers, one for inserts and the folded diapers I use. I haven't gotten a liner/bag yet. I keep the lids on (to keep baby and kitty out) but leave the lids off the tubs to let them air out while washing. I also give the tubs a rinse out with some baking soda and water to keep down any smellies, but haven't had any troubles yet.

I'm thinking I want to get a different liner and put it in a different room than I did before (so it matches my decor). HMMM

Where are you ladies keeping yours? Not sure which room to put it in. I change my babies all over, but I suppose if I am doing some changing in my room it should stay in there? Especially for middle of the night changes.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm. lol.

I just hang the bag on a hook out of little hands reach; I'm assuming dry pail. If you do laundry often, it won't stink. It saved money.

I have two; they're both rubbermaid kitchen trash buckets with flip-top lids. I keep one in my upstairs bathroom, and one in my utility closet off the kitchen. That way I have one upstairs and one down. Right now, I only have one kiddo in daytime dipes, and two at night, so I wash the contents of both pails together, but when I had three in dipes I used to wash one pail a day, alternating pails.

The best solution I've found for smellies is to keep the lid loose-fitting, so that the diapers dry out. An airtight lid just encourages the smell.

I have mine in the downstairs bathroom so I can wash the dirty diapers out first and then I put it in the pail. Sometimes - when it gets stinky - I put the pail in the garage

Does anyone have anything dog proof? I have a dog who is fascinated with both poop, and underwear so I'm going to need to protect my diapers from her. None of the commercial pails look like they'd do the trick.

Well, I will be living in a smaller apartment with laundry facilities throughout the complex.

I am thinking a pail in my room would be the best since the little one will be in there with me. Maybe have one in my bathroom too?

Not sure yet.

Could you get a trash can and get one of the child proofing locks to keep the dog out? That is what we had to do when we had a dog that kept getting in the pail... now the pail is upstairs where the dog isn't allowed but the child lock worked!!
