Cute stuff they say...

So I guess my 2 year old has unweaned...(see post "are we tandeming?!") First I was very surprised we weren't, now I'm equally surprised we ARE.

Anyway....do your kids say cute stuff while/about nursing?

Like tonight, for some reason DD said Cookie Monster eats "boo". Then she went on to name all these other SS characters...then my 4 year old tells her Abby does NOT eat "boo" "because she flies!"

And DD has this game where she pops off and informs me "Dere's a 'pider on you!" and has to get the spider off me...sometimes there's also a "yadybug" in my hair.

She also likes to happily announce "I'm dwinkin' milk" periodically while nursing. (I JUST NOW realized she has two different words! When she announces during nursing it is "milk". The stuff she drinks in a cup is "meek") interesting

anyone else?

When my dd finishes nursing, she looks up dreamily and says, "Munai soooo good!" If I ask her what it tastes like, she says, "Strawberry ice cream!"

My 3 1/2 yr old says, "Come to me mimis" (that is our word for boobies).

I love it!

Awww! Just tonight, my almost five year old asked for nuh-nuh - first time in a few days - and told me, "I like it and I love it!"

You all, on this board, are the only people who would appreciate my stories about my 3.5 yr old nursing!!

If she only nurses for a short while she says she didn't make it to her "favorite part" which I assume is my hind milk and just sometimes she doesn't nurse long enough for it.

When I ask her if her fav part tastes different or how it tastes she says "lotion" with a huge grin on her face.

Such beautiful stories!!! It's hearing things like this that helps me to keep going even with all of the negative comments/looks.

My guy loves to point to the other breast and say (with a mouth full of nipple) "Desi's num" and then point to the one he's nursing on and says "Brady's num". And if Desi starts crying, he will pull on my shirt and tell me that Desi needs a num.

hi ladies-
not up to the extended part of bf(my lil' Toby is only 6.5 mo) but I just wanted to chime in and say thank you for sharing, you all are giving me hope for the future. I look forward to hearing what my little fella will call nursing.

my two year old says "mammi, nen nen mhis(please)" and tilts his head to one side

and all three often sit around playing with dolls and nursing their dollies. sometimes they pretend to nurse each other too. i think it's adoreable. my daughter will probably nurse and my sons may grow up to encourage their wives to bf. however, MIL and FIL who just left two days ago were a hilarious combination or freaked out and mortified.

My 13 month old will ask for "ma-ma-ma" and if I'm not quick enough, she'll insist, "Mama! MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME!"

My 3.5 year old always says, "Mama, I need my special mamamilk!" Sometimes he calls his baby sister over to nurse with him an holds "her side" for her while she nurses.

My almost-seven year old thinks is funny trying to nurse with no top front teeth (fell out before their time due to an impact from her big brother's knee).

My other kids have made great comments about breastfeeding in general in the past. Upon seeing a mom giving a bottle to a baby, my oldest (around 2 at the time) said, very loudly..."doesn't she know what her BREASTS are for???"

Same child, at around 20 months old, upon being told by a stranger that he was too old to be nursing, "No, YOU are too old!!!"

My second child, age 7, when I was pregnant with our fifth child, wasn't so sure he wanted to wean even though he knew he was done nursing because he remembered how great the milk tastes after a baby is born. :

My DD, 2 yrs and 10 months, loves her "Mrs. Boobies - the warmest part of your (my) body!"

I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and she went to nurse the other day... before latching on, "Wow, mama, your belly really IS big!" and then before switching sides, "Your boobies are big, too!"

DD also asked her gmas to nurse her dolls (both of them at different times). She has DH and myself pretend nurse her stuffies all the time. We oblige.

What wonderful stories. My lo is just starting to talk. Right now, he loudly declares he wants mum mum mum's to everyone and stares intently at my chest until he gets milk. It is really funny.

My ds is 2.5 and every almost every time he asks to nurse lately, he says, "Mama, I want to nurse on that side and then on that side" while pointing. A couple times he has to repeat this a couple times before he latches on.
I've also been limiting his nursing a bit when I'm really sore (I'm 24 wks pg) and I call it ABC nursing cause I sing and then he has to let go. So he'll also ask me to regular nurse.

LOOOOL

like I said my 2 year old has apparently unweaned. DH had absolutely no comment this weekend which surprised me. He either has decided it is my body and our relationship and there is no point commenting, OR he didn't notice that she was actually nursing

mine too will say one's hers and one's her brother's--given her choice she is left and he is right.

And DS2 who is 4 1/2 months old, has been staring intently at my chest for a couple months already as one way of communicating what he wants! looooool My mom will hand him back to me when he starts checking hers out!

The other thing he has done for a long time that I find funny (and pretty darn smart for a new baby) is he'll fuss when he's with somebody else and hungry---then when he gets to me, IMMEDIATELY he stops and smiles at me!

DS2 will fold himself in half head butting me if I can't get a boob out fast enough! If he's upset and I ask him if he needs nursies/booby, he stops crying and falls into the crook of my arm, and immediatley tries to eat my shirt!

DS1 called nursing and breasts 'noo nooooohhh!!'

he also tried to nurse on the baby's nipples!

My DD pats them and tells me, "I wike nunnies. Mommy haf big nunnies. Dere pretty nunnies."

We've really cut back on nursing b/c is hurts, and I tell her "Nunnies are owie." She said, "Jesus make nunnies not owie."

laughup

My almost 3 yr old (in 2 weeks) has pretty much weaned, but still loves on the mimi's. She will say, "can I hold your mimi's?" and then she smashes her cheek up against one and kisses it and says, "I luhhh you mimi" all breathy and blissed out. I often reply that I love her too, and am met with "I'm not talking to YOU! I talking to yer mimi's." Sometimes she talks in a high pitched voice, and squeezes it like a puppet, as if it's talking back to her. When she gets hurt or sad, she asks to hold mimi because "Mimi helps me stop crying." My family thinks it is crazy. I think it's adorable.

I had to give my neice a little bit of formula the other day while we were babysitting. Her mom is having some supply issues after going back to work. : Both my girls looks so confused when I was making it. My 6 yr old said asked what it was and then asked, "Well why don't you give her your mimi milk?" If only I still had some, I could.

My 2 year old has started a new thing. When he wants to nurse he comes over to me with a silly grin and says "I gonna get ninnies" and makes pinching motions with his fingers (his version of sign language for milk).

I'm not sure where this came from but the first time he did it, he looked so cute I couldn't help laughing and now he does it all the time.

Esther's done many of those, including telling me one's hers & Linda can have the other. Her latest, though, is to fall dramatically onto the bed and say "Mama, I'm hungry. I need to eat your boobie. I will not bite it."
