Saw the hb mw yesterday and she said the baby was really low and the baby got lower after that!!
I am ready to have this baby and I think the baby needs to hurry up and get ready to be born.

We're having some drama with the hb now too : We got a call from the assnt saturday saying that the birth team had been rearranged and she was no longer part of it but if we wanted her to come as a doula should was offering her services and she really liked us and it wasn't her idea etc and that the mw would explain what was going on when I had my appmnt Sunday. Well mw didn't say anything on Sunday. I met the new 2nd mw, I hadn't met the oringal. I knew that mw2 was going to be there because mw1 told me that with my history of fast labors she switched to having mw2 as the #2 because she is closer than the other mw. Well at the appmnt mw said that the 1st #2 will be able to come for an appmnt the first weekend in April. I'm all confused and dh wasn't able to come with me, he's usually the one who figured things out.
So I don't know I really liked the assnt, and didn't like mw#2 so much.....

Speak up and tell them!

Seriously. Your birth, your baby. Tell her you're not comfortable at this late stage with changes in the game plan, if that's really how you feel. Don't do something now, just to be polite, that you may regret later.

I'm so ready!
Laurelj, well, maybe you are already having your baby by this morning... but if not, I'll just share that this happened for a couple of days with my first. Regular contractions started late on a Monday afternoon and would come and go, sometimes for hours at a time. I had the baby at 4AM on Thursday AM after a relatively quick and productive labor once things got going. My MWs gave me really good advice- if you CAN relax, if you CAN go to sleep, you should take advantage of the opportunity to rest, save your energy, and take care of yourself, because when its time, labor is HARD WORK! They cautioned me that moms can get so excited about pre-labor that they end up wearing themselves out before the real deal has even started (staying up all night counting contractions, being too antsy to eat meals, etc).

I was glad b/c my mom is so far away (other edge of the country) and it gave her enough warning that she was able to get here a couple of hours before the birth despite having to arrange a last-minute flight, car, etc. This time- my mom is just planning to come out about 2 weeks before my due date. We hope thats in time b/c I'd really like her to be here, and I'm not counting on getting a few days of warnings to help her arrange her travel!

GL everyone! I am not due until the end of the month and I wonder if I'll get to read everyone else's birth announcements all month before I have mine. At least then maybe I'll be able to keep up with the posts (I just can't keep up with everything that is going on here!).

But the past few weeks, it's been 130/67, 135/61 and this past week (when the MW was late, I was hungry and we were supposed to go to dinner after!) it was 140/69.
Don't stress about those numbers! My MW says the top one has a lot to do with your emotions, so if you were agitated, 140 is totally reasonable. My numbers have been way higher lately... usually 150/90 sitting up, 140/80 lying down. If my numbers were like yours, my MW would be celebrating. She knows a doctor though, who doesn't treat pregnant women until their lower number reaches 110, so we have a long way to go before home birth is out of the question. I have a friend whose high number reached 200 at times, and she was still able to have her home birth.

When I get my BP taken, I try to breathe deeply, and imagine I'm nursing a beautiful little newborn. I think it helps.

So, I've been warned, but I feel that I wasn't prepared for this UNCERTAINTY, lol. Its so awkward being in this time of wait with no idea when this baby will arrive!!!!!!!!! Who knew that 3 or 4 weeks could CRAWL by so slowly!

emma - thanks! I'm still pregnant as of this morning, but I think baby will come soon. It's probably good that I didn't have the baby last night, because I did get pretty excited and it was already getting late into the evening. One thing I've been worried about is not having enough energy for labor, so I hope it happens earlier in the day after I've slept a while.

You're right, I think me stressing about the numbers just makes them go up! :

I do the deep breathing thing too, and it really DOES help, esp with the top number. But I seem to be carrying around a lot of stress the past month or so, it seems, and can't get my top number to drop like I usually do with a moment's relaxation. I think I need to start meditating or maybe do some birth art or something, just to break things up a bit.

Or maybe it's just light-at-the-end-of-the-birth-tunnel anxiety...

I've had 3 births, two with a provider I'd never met (1 was a c/s so it didn't really matter to me) and the other with a mw that was #2 on my "please don't let her be on call when I go into labor" so I'm really not too worried about it.

Plus I got an email from my doula from my last 2 births who we really wanted to be a part of this birth and she wants to come, for free, if we'd like her there :
I'm over the moon

I really feel like we're going to have a baby within a week, I may be jinxing myself here but I'll throw it out there, maybe the universe is listening

Michelle, the end of pg exists in a space outside of time. Non-pg people just go about their business not realising that one day to them is 2-3 for us. That's really what ages you, its not the kids, its the late pg/newborn time warp

or all of the above Could you ask them to take your bp at the end of your appmnt? That way you're more relaxed

I am TTC #1 and have been temping for my first month. Could some of you mamas look at my chart and tell me if it looks good or not? I usually have a 28-day cycle with spotting and tender BBs from CD 26-27. This month I have no symptoms of AF yet. My temp dropped this morning but is still well above my coverline but I've lost most hope that this is the month... Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, Dawn, it was a little bit of a ridiculous sight, I'm sure, when I set up the co-sleeper, but thankfully no one was here to see me with my giant belly struggling and sweating to get that damn thing up. I think my biggest piece of advice is that you need enough room to get to all 4 sides and you can move it next to your bed later...and buttons are not the same thing as tabs. What a PITA. On your bp numbers, the top one is definitely related to stress...or what's happened to me before is I forget to pee in a cup, then I have to run to the downstairs bathroom and run back up while the nurse is waiting and the stairs elevate my top bp, but the bottom stays the same. Nerves will also shoot it up. The only place I've had a high bp reading in the last 1.5 is at the cardiologist office...hmm...it's almost like they make me nervous with all their invasive testing :

Michelle, I'm so totally right there with you....I've got 1.5 weeks left to the EDD and not only am I getting antsy, but it's getting to the point where I can't call anyone without them asking if I'm in labor...my facebook is constantly got someone asking if the baby's here, yet, etc. I can't imagine how bad it's gonna get when I go over (cause I think I will).

Azrieal - sounds like everything is working out for you guys ::. I hope you get that birth this week...we will likely be waiting awhile...how come there's not a smiley with a little guy tapping a watch?

For me, I finally got back to sleep last night around 4:00-4:30...slept until 8:15, so I really did get a full night's sleep, just with an intermission. Sigh. Still sleepy, but not enough to go back to bed. Maybe what I'll do is be lazy until my appt and then clean up when I get home....and take a nap somewhere in there.

Have a great day everyone!!

Unfortunately, I think you're just in that painful 'wait and see' stage....I've definitely seen people's charts do that and then spike way back up or level out and be pg. Are you in a TTC group here on MDC? They are really helpful and fabulous and probably much more experienced than me in reading these. Some of those ladies have been trying a long time or they've had multiple pgs....lots of experts. GL and hope this is your month!!:

I think you shoudl definitely be lazy!!!! I had such a lazy weekend and loved every second of it . I was telling DH that I don't know exaclty when I became such a homebody. I don't want to stray far from home at all right now!

And yes, I'm surprised my facebook hasn't exploded yet but people definitely are wondering and asking! Kate - I'm already friends with your band on myspace, care to be facebook friends too?? Haha, I'm a nerd. Anyway, here's the link to my profile since I can't find you: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pr...50&ref=profile Anyone else that has a facebook and wants to add me, feel free!!!! I think its fun to get to see a different side to all of us if you are comfortable .

I am with you here! Though I have had another child. The first time around I was still unsure about being a mom and the labor that I didn't really think time went slow, I was also working full time till a week before baby arrived (2 weeks early) so I'm sure that helped and I had expected to go the full 40...Soooo of course this time being a SAHM, allready done with everything, and knowing I'll be a great mom and that I can do labor, and from my last one I am fully expecting baby to arrive 2-3 weeks early! It's going to be so hard if I end up 40 or over. I mark off each day on the calendar by noon...how sad is that!? I've got to keep busy!

Laurelj: I do second Emma about getting rest during prelabor. I ended up taking 1/2 a tylenol pm during DD's prelabor and slept sooo good then woke up to my water breaking and was well rested for labor. Good luck Laurelj!

Azerial: That's a bummer about all those changes...I had a hard time when I wasn't able to start with the midwife I wanted and planned on having for the last 2 years...she decided to take a leave of absence...but so far these midwives have worked out. It is so comoforting having a doula who is a constant for you! And for free!!!! I couldn't do it without mine!

Done!! Okay, now you'll know how crazy I really am. So, don't forget everyone, we also have a fb group for after babies come...April MDC mommies is what it's called.

I had some lazy time this weekend, too...mostly on Saturday. I've been talking to DH, though...we need to try to get to bed at the normal time on weekends...not only does having a late schedule mess him up for returning to work on Monday, but I'm afraid that we're going to be exhausted if baby decides to come on a Saturday morning and we've been up all Friday night...(okay, I rarely make it up too late, but much later than weekdays.)

Forgot to mention how our new Doc appointment went. This DO was sooo good with DD. DD has really only been to the chiro physician in the last 2 years so she doesn't remember much about the doc. He explained everything and she did just fine, a healthy almost 4 year old. I talked to him about her boosters and doing baby vaxes, delayed or not at all. He told me he just informs the parents of all three ways and then backs them up in their decision. What a GREAT doc!!! So as for right now we are delaying probably for the first year...we'll see after that. And DD doesn't "need" boosters till age 5 (even though we are homeschooling) so that gives me another year to decide.

We are switching our entire family to him so it'll be nice to have a natural minded doc but one who can do perscrptions when needed for all 4 of us.

Yikes...did I just say 4!? That still seems weird...

I did it. But man, you're right, what a PITA! Especially getting that %#%@$& side down (the one that faces the big bed.) But it's done. Whew. Check!

Nancy, Happy Birthday! Hope it's a great one!

I have a question that hopefully we can discuss here so I can discuss it with all of you Mamas. Has anyone heard of the recent ban on dropside cribs???? Of course ours is dropside and I am all worried now. What does everyone think?
