Need help picking dress fabrics...please!

Help me pick dress fabrics!

This is the pattern:

So this is what I'm looking for- something super cute, coordinating fabrics for the overdress, underdress and ruffles on the back and bottom. Not sure how many different fabrics--would like suggestions on that as well.

I'd also like something that is season-neutral, that she can wear as a sundress in the summer and as a pinafore in the winter with a shirt underneath. I like the free spirit fabrics style but I'm totally open. I'm horrible at picking fabrics to put together!!!

I would ask her what her favorite colors are (you probably know this!) and then choose a line of fabric that contains those colors.

With children's clothes I think opposite colors on the color wheel look best. Like orange and purple, or red with green.

There are so many good fabrics out right now, I love fabric from Heather Bailey, Sis Boom Flower Power (so pretty!), Amy Butler, AnnaMaria Horner Garden Party, Tanya Whelan, American Jane, Alexander Henry....

Good luck deciding, it keeps me up at night!!!

(Oh one more- if you like old school looking florals Liberty of London Lawns are so pretty- but wickedly expensive.)

Perhaps you could mix a light corduroy with a floral/geometric print? I see the overlay on that dress might be super cute in a light cord.

Actually I don't know! She is 18 months...so it would be a guess at this point...well, really the only color she knows consistently is purple, so maybe that is her favorite!!

Looking at the flicker photos, I would say that the ones I find most appealing have three coordinating fabrics. If she likes purple, maybe you could find something in a dark purple, a coordinating lighter purple, and a contrasting yellow or peach.
