how do i find my spirit guide?

this is my first post in this forum! i've always considered myself very spiritual and interested in "the other side". however, i'm not really that knowledgable on it, and i know there are so many avenues to choose from! but i have heard of spirit guides:

are they actual humans who are meant to guide you to where you need to be at different time sin your life? or spirits amongst us?

how do i contact mine? thanks for advice!

Ask for contact and they will appear.

When I did this, a woman came to me in a dream and told me her name was Beverly and she's my spirit guide.

Some are animal spirits, some are human spirits...just be open to whatever and see what comes to you.
