Question about wool soakers

SO I was going to make some soakers and longies from old wool sweaters but when I went to goodwill to find some I found A LOT of wool blends

Does it need to be made of 100% wool or can it be a blend with other materials?

TIA

It can be a blend but, it should be mostly wool like 80% or a pinch less. It's hard for me to find 100% wool at the thrifts shops too:

You can use a nylon wool blend or acrylic but none that have cotton, ramie,or silk because they will not repel. After you wash and dry them you will get a better idea of the tight felt you want to see from a 80% or more wool fiber. Have fun! If anything they will work ok for Summer. you can even sew in a wool doubler to the inside wetzone to give those blends a boost.
