This is so moving and inspiring. What an incredibly selfless, wonderful father. That mom chose him well. And the TEAM! I want to send them medals.

Maybe I should post this in Tribal Areas as well, to make sure any interested nursers can help? I so want them to make it to their goal of one year! Just imagine. SO beautiful. Talk about "it takes a village"!

OMGoodness, that is so beautiful. What a wonderful gift to the baby. That is exactly what I would want my dh to do if anything happened to me.

A gentle request ... this link includes mention of a mother's death in childbirth -- very upsetting. I think a "WARNING" tag in the OP's subject line would be a good idea.

Really? I wrote "Women step up to breast-feed motherless infant" as the title. I thought having "motherless" in the title would make it clear enough that something sad had transpired, but okay.

Wow, I can't believe that! I love that he's not just getting the milk but he's actually able to be close to the mothers and get that comfort. How great.

I know! I mean, I think it would already be admirable if a widower father was as committed to getting pumped breast milk for his baby long-term, but to actually arrange for them to be nursed? SO AWESOME.

I am so impressed that the dad, in such a time of grief, found such a wonderful way to care for his baby.

I have told my husband and put in my will that if I am ever in a coma or something like that, I want to be kept alive to be pumped/nursed from until the nursling is at least a year.

How amazing and beautiful and sad. I would be more than willing to nurse a babe in that situation. What a wonderful dad and you can see how happy the baby is. Those women are amazing!
