depending on how you interpret my chart my 2ww is almost over I am madly busy with full-time work and am just printing out pages after pages of school work I somehow have to read and/or study at some point... tomorrow is a national holiday so i'll sleep in (!!) and maybe go to a museum. I have to work again on Friday, and I have a class on Saturday. ugh. then sleeping again on Sunday before it all starts again. lots of agains. it's really nice out though so that reconciles me.

talula and cinnamon, please share that luck with me!

hesperia, glad to hear you found a nice place! of course it would be awesome if you're pregnant already but if a different time suits you better...

snow~pea, thanks for the reassurance. I do think it makes the most sense, too. but my boobs are already tender I had hardly any soy this cycle and almost no sugar (until last weekend), so it would be even more annoying to not be pregnant. especially weaning off sugar again

In the summer of 2002 it didn't seem like very good luck at all! Then in the spring of 2003, I realized just how lucky it was

Hey Hes, you have the attitude of someone who it could happen to... Praying for it to be not true usually has the opposite affect- LOL!!!
My husband co worker has a difficult time getting pregnant. His advice to them is to get drunk and try really hard to not get pregnant without protection!

LOL, you girls are hilarious. I have always had to try to get PG (although in DSs case it worked ont he first try!) so idon'tknowhowyouknow.

My parents left this morning. Big sigh of relief. I miss them when they are gone but 16 days is a long time!
Lets just say I'm really looking forward to moving into our own place.
After 37 days with my MIL I will be looking forward to long quiet nights by myself in the tub...okay and with my husband. We have 14 days left.

He(DH) decided he wanted to go check out parks in our neighbourhood today and declared which parks were his favorite baby friendly ones and why. : Gosh, he is a keeper!

How is everyone doing? Maybe we should have a weekly check in? Anyone keen on that?
Here is my weekly check in:

31 weeks PG tomorrow. Gained 18 lbs. A little sick of the "you are huge comments". I am 5'7" and weigh 155 lbs. Wee one is still very active, he is a much more ferocious kicker than his brother or sister. I am hoping that might mean he has a mellower personality becasue they were fairly mellow in utero and are NOT now!
VM, I do not think that 155 at 5'7 is "huge". You must be tiny everywhere but your belly! 9 weeks seems so soon, does it feel like your pregnancy has flown by or is it just me? I guess maybe it always seems quick when you are not the one who is pregnant, lol. How is your back? Has the chiro helped much?

oceane
& Jen, how are you holding up?

Friday Check-In: CD26/7DPO
Nothing exciting to report, just breezing thru my 2ww. AF is due next Thursday so if she doesn't show I might test next weekend. I kind of want to wait til June 1st to test though, because that online psychic had said June was my lucky month, lol.

Doing pretty good here! 8DPO.... going to try to hold out to test until Monday. My 2WW is flying by....most because I was notified yesterday that I got a promotion at work that I was really hoping for : It would be pretty ironic if I get a BFP on Monday since this new job I'll be taking at my office is to replace a colleague who is not coming back after her maternity leave!!!

Friday check-in!

Today is cycle day 26, roughly 12 days past ovulation.
Still having some cramping/tension in my lower abdominals/uterus. Felt like pinching and tugging for a bit, then just an ache. I think it was the pap smear on cycle day 16. I got to see my cervix that day (amazing amazing amazing) it was was slightly open. Too neat. : However the discomfort didn't start until more than 5 days after the pap.

Taking my old job back as a nanny, three children. Two 3 year olds and one 1 year old. I love them, and they are amazing little people, but I worry about being pregnant and minding all three. Luckily one of the three year olds is tiny and light, and the 12 month old is a doll. And 2 boys (three year olds) are potty trained.
Anyone have experience with an ergo and a belly? They know I am planning on getting pregnant very soon and are comfortable with that. I've been caring for the family full-time for a year and have known them for a year and a half. It was breaking my heart to have them find another nanny - what if I ran into them at the park with someone new. Oh my boys! Plus I'm getting a pay increase for damage control for three kids. Thanks for listening to me blab on about this job, I was so against taking it but have decided my body is strong and my heart has room for loads of love and if it gets too hard we will work something out. They spent 5 months waiting for me to come home from Ireland because I am the perfect nanny for them (ap family). Also, they love me and will work around my doula career and caring for the children.

Did I mention I will work full-time as a nanny and do doula stuff while pregnant? hahaha, thank goodness I'm only 22.

Alright, so that is my emotional update for friday. Our puppy got spayed yesterday and I spent the day crying(sobbing!) over her pain. She is fine, but very uncomfortable and it breaks my heart.

Wishing everyone an easy TWW, and hoping O comes quickly for those that are waiting. Looking for to more BFP! :

Friday check-in

(neat idea, by the way)

cd 30, 11 dpo IF you agree with my personal interpretation. ff really failed me this cycle. I do feel very pre-AF, tender and emotional. that is all very normal though, and since my temps have not moved one bit since O I don't know if I'm hopeful. probably not.

I have been going through an anxious and depressed stage, I mostly don't know what to do with myself and feel like all I do is consume: movies, books, internet. that's why I just ordered a kit and some patterns from sublime stitching to keep my hands busy and hopefully feel a little more productive. plus I want a t-shirt with a Japanese greeting cat on it!

hesperia, sorry about your dog. I don't know about the Ergo (maybe ask in the babywearing forum?) but I suppose after a certain stage carrying the boy or girl on your back might be easier. not sure on how much weight you'd be allowed to carry though.
your nanny family sounds so perfect. I'd hold on to that job for as long as I could.

snow, looking good so far! :

Jen, you need a chart we can stalk congrats on the promotion! I'm sure you deserve it and will do an awesome job.

vm that is probably reassuring though, right, to feel him or her kick? sure, this baby is going to be calm and huge on sleeping it's possible, at least...

hi lizzy and talula and cinnamon, how are you girls holding up?

I know!!! I used to chart the on computer, but we don't have a computer at home so I recently switched to paper..... Verbal update though on my chart: always between 97.7-97.9 pre-O.... then 1-3DPO I was in the low 98's..... 4+5DPO I crept up to 98.6...... 6DPO I went way up to 98.9 and then 7+8 DPO I went back down to 98.6..... I'm thinking I went up to 98.9 on day 6 because that night I slept with our comforter on and I haven't been sleeping with that many blankets lately. Since I don't have a computer at home I won't be back to update until Tuesday....hopefully I'll have a BFP to report on by then!

Hesperia are you going to continue to work as a nanny after you have your baby? Of so, will you bring your baby with you? I'm curious because I am a full-time nanny also (for two year-old twin girls) and I've been (almost constantly!) thinking about what I will do after I have a baby. (The baby has yet to be conceived, of course. ) I absolutely adore the kids, the mom is vegan and totally understands my food choices, and they pay me well. I'm not sure how they would feel about me bringing a baby with me, though. Anyway, I always love to hear about what other nannies do/plan to do once they have their own kiddos!

Now for my check-in: I'm on CD 24 and I'm pretty sure I'm about 3 DPO. I'm being very impatient and plan to test early! I don't have any symptoms yet.

I also have a diet question: are any of you avoiding soy? I've read that it can interfere with fertility, but I'm not sure how definitive the evidence is or who funded the study that made this claim. My husband and I both eat a moderate amount of soy. It's hard to give up! Thoughts?

I don't think there is enough evidence that soy effects fertility to totally cut it out. I think a low to moderate amount of soy in the form of tofu, soy milk or soy beans (avoiding highly processed soy as much as possible) is fine. Ime, it's hard enough to stick to a strict vegan diet without adding other restrictions. Yes it can be done, it just takes a lot more effort and I'm lazy.

I do think, though, that a lot of vegans get way too much soy. And a lot of vegan cookbooks rely on soy substitutes too often.

I didn't avoid soy when I was TTC, nor when pregnant. I didn't eat a ton of it either. I think unless you know you have an issue with it, there's no reason to avoid it.

Holy tarnation, I'm on an elimination diet for Baby Girl (no soy or gluten) and it is pretty dang hard to find stuff to eat. But ah well, we adjust!
cupcake, gluten free is a pain in the asparagus. I'm sure you're creative enough to find yummy food though!

becks, I don't think there's evidence but the infertility cure tells me to avoid soy for my pattern of late ovulation. So I did last cycle. I had soy maybe a few times, some as tofu, some as yogurt (. my husbands eats a lot of it though, mostly tofu and sometimes soy milk. I didn't get pregnant last cycle but I will use little soy again this cycle. I eat my muesli with oat milk and use sandwich spreads based on sunflower seeds.

hi catemom hope all is well at your place.

I'm on CD1.

good luck to the 2wwaiters!

Lots of hugs to you oceane.

I read an article in VegNews about soy making "you" infertile and how that study was bogus. They showed evidence that if anything, it's the opposite (for men anyway).
I have consumed soy on a regular basis, not in extreme amounts, and with a varied mostly organic diet. I know, that is just me, but I think that if you are eating tons of processed soy, then that would be a problem with more than just fertility- but if it's a part of your healthy diet in moderation...well, you know.
That is my thought.
I have one girl so far, conceived (accidentally) and I was consuming soy pretty regularly then even. Still don't know what kind of little booger I'm carrying currently... all I can speculate that it's going to be a drummer- LOL!!!

awe!! Hi Catemom!!! How are you and baby?

oceane!! You are so sweet...Thanks for asking!! I'm doing so much better these days. It's been wonderful (except for trying to find something to eat every 1-2 hours and getting up in the middle of the night to eat). I went in for my midwife appt last Thursday and it was amazing. We did an ultrasound and the baby was moving around and dancing and flailing and was so busy! I could have watched all day it was so amazing and fun. So much movement now which makes it feel all that much more real.

I'm in Canada, so I get one year paid maternity leave. Sadly it is only 55% percent (or is it 60%?). My plans was to work the 10 months and take maternity leave, they are well aware of my plans. I wasn't planning on going back to work for them, but then again, I wasn't planning on going back this time either. It is so hard when you just love the children. Anyways, I might be able to cover 1-2 days after my maternity is up, between their kindergarten and play schools, but hope to be full on doula mama by then
If I didn't have maternity leave, I'd go back with a family or start my own daycare. I don't think I'd go back to a family with three children and my own, but I could see myself with twins.
What are your plans.

minor update. I'm spotting and was super pms'y the other day, so I'm sure AF is on her way into town. I'm still heavy hearted but happy at the same time because I'm excited for our real trying time That said, af isn't here yet, and I might jinx myself even more just by saying these words.

Ocean So sorry to hear AF came. Maybe we will be close enough to be cycle buddies. Actually haven't we been before?

SoyI will not cut out soy unless I start to feel like it might be causing issues, or it takes longer than 6 months to conceive (which it wont!). I eat a lot less soy now than I did before, and I'm feeling better, although it is more a whole diet thing, not just the soy, yk? We have it in our coffee and then maybe 2 times per week with dinner. Also, soy butter spread. We make our own milk most of the time or have almond milk.

Thinking of all the TWWer's. s BFP's please.

Any other Vegan TTCer's going the UC route?
