Is there whey in cheese?

So whey is the liquid part that separates when making cheese. So does cheese (like lets say, cheddar cheese) have whey in it?

I think so (it would have both casein and whey). I saw your other post too--thing is, I'm not sure, even if something says "whey protein" I doubt they tested to actually see if there's no casein. If something is a dairy product, I'd only trust it had no casein if it said "casein-free" and technically that only means that the casein is below whatever the detectable level of the test is. It's like ghee--most ghee is, I think, mostly just the fat, but they don't really test to see if they got all the trace amounts of casein or whatever out.

Yes, it does contain whey. The softer the cheese, the more whey there is.
