hose for filling up the birth tub

I just picked up a hose and sink adapter for the tub at home depot. I got the cheapest/shortest hose they had, 15 feet and $8. I noticed a label on it that said not to use it with hot water. Is that something I can ignore, or do I need to find a different brand/not so cheap one?

I read somewhere that you are supposed to use an RV drinking water hose. I guess the logic being that the water should be drinkable quality since baby (and you) will/may be submerged in it. So that's what we got- I think it was about $25. Regular old garden hoses are allegedly full of lead and other chemicals.

Also, the hot water thing is REALLY hot water. Water from your water heater should be fine (we never had and issue with my drinking water hose).

I buy either an RV hose, they are white hoses, or this time around I got an aquarium hose which is a clear hose.

I had never heard of the lead in regular hoses....

Just don't do what my husband did - he bought a clear green hose - thought it would be great as he could SEE the water, right???

Yah, well, it was a garden WATERING hose - with tonnes of little holes in it...as I'm sitting on the porcelain throne I felt this wonderful cool refreshing spray on my face and chest -as the did the entire floor in the 6' span from the sink to the pool! LMBO

Thank goodness my midwife had her own hose and they did a quick change! LOL

I used an RV hose to fill it and a python hose to drain it.

Yes - it definately was one of those 'lighten up the moment' things!

I'd get a different one. You need a drinking water one as those are lead free.

I just got a 25' RV hose for $9 at Meijer. I don't know if they have those where you are, but you should be able to find the right thing for cheap.
