HIB Vax Only - Reactions?

Has anyone just done the HIB vaccination without any other vaccines (or no other vaxs at the visit) - if so what was your experience and did you have any complications?

We are considering doing ACTHib at 15mths for our son. Our doctor has been pushing to do both HIB and DTaP (we have done no vaxs so far) - though I'm too worried about complications from DTaP to do it - at least until he's much, much older.

Thanks!

We only do one vaccine at a time, so both DS and DD got ActHib alone. They had a very mild local reaction (redness on the site of the shot) and that was all.

We do a selective/delayed schedule and if ds does get a vax he only gets one at a time per visit. We had no reaction with the HIB vaccine.

My daughter had no reaction. She had the shot on Monday and was fine. However, on Friday, she started to throw up. She could not hold water down all day. By evening, she was able to keep water down. Saturday morning she was better and ate a good breakfast. Saturday night, she got a fever and had one up and down all day Sunday until Sunday night. The highest it got was 102.3 I think. By Monday, she was better but very cranky. Tuesday more or less back to normal.

I do NOT know if this was vax (ActHib) related at all. The week before, some kids at her day care were throwing up. I am leaving this open and not deciding it was vax related at all. But I did report it to VAERS. DH thinks it was a vax reaction but who knows since it did happen almost 4 days later.

Frankly I worry more about the potential for long-term reactions from this vax, not immediate reactions which if there are any are usually mild.

My DD recently received the 3rd HiB (ActHib) shot recently. She's 16 months old. She had the shot on a Monday, and was absolutely fine for the following 3 days. On Thursday she started to run a fever over of 102. In the next few days, she was still fevering and increasingly getting worse and more listless and by Tuesday, her back and neck were stiff and she was very ill. 3 ER visits later, she was diagnosed with viral meningitis. Nevertheless, the whole ordeal was frightening to say the least. You can read my story here:

Are there any specific LT complications / concerns with the HIB vaccine? From my understanding ActHIB is mercury / aluminum free so at least those aren't a factor.
