Wearing baby in the water?

I'll be going to Florida with dh and dd in a few weeks and I'm looking at getting a sling of some kind to wear dd in the pool and at the waterpark we're going to. Dd is 9 months old (and very big, 90th percentile on everything) and LOVES water so I figure this will be a great way to introduce her to it outside the bath tub. (We also live in California and figure we'll get a lot of use out of it.) Anyway, Kangaroo Korner has a ring sling and a pouch that are both mesh and for the water...but I don't know which one to get. I've never had a ring sling...opinions on those? I did get a the adjustable fleece pouch from Kangaroo Korner, but I ordered the wrong size (too big) and it was too hot for us anyway so I didn't really like it...but I don't think it was the pouches fault!

Opinions? Thoughts? Help!

Pouches are a pain to size right, but if you can get one that fits, they're super easy. I'd be a little concerned about the wet fabric stretching too much with a pouch, though. Ring slings are a bit more complicated but don't have the sizing issues & you could tighten it if the fabric stretches.

i would say a ring sling or a mei tai in solarveil material, or else a gypsymama water wrap. ring slings and mei tai's in solarveil are probably cooler (and provide spf) but you might find the water wrap more supportive (depending on if the mei tai has padded straps).

solarveil isn't made anymore, but there are some folks who still have it and are making carriers from it. and it's pretty easy to find gently used over at thebabywearer.com

zolowear.com has really fantastic ring sling instructions. It's taken from the Tummy2Tummy DVD, so it's quality stuff. GL. I like RSs myself.

Who sells mei tais made of solarveil? I have a ring sling but would love a mei tai.

I always flinch when people mention TBW. I know people love it but it overwhelms me.
