Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin. I love it. The heroine isn't ditzy or shallow. The story rings true.

I am in love with Nora Roberts books. I especially like the 3 sisters trilogy and THE IRISH TRILOGY

Jewels of the Sun(1999), Tears of the Moon (2000), and Heart of the Sea(2000), also montana sky. They are easy reads which I need at the end of the day.

Nora Roberts is hit or miss with me - but the 3 sister trilogy and Irish trilogy are great!

I will look up Something Borrowed

Sophie Kinsella and Jennifer Weiner. Kinsella also writes under a different name. Madeline something, I think...

The first thing that comes to my mind is "Jemima J" by Jane Green. It's one of my favorites.

Jennifer Weiner is my absolute favorite. Her characters are typically normal women, the struggle with weight and other issues. And, she has a lot of AP leanings - they usually breastfeed, cosleep, cloth diaper etc.... but, she presents it in a realistic manner - that mothering, being a woman, a wife etc... isn't' easy and we all have these things we aspire to be and do but, we are fallible. I really love how realistic her characters are.

I also love the Emily Griffin books. I started with Something Borrowed and then read the sequel Something Blue and have read her other books and really enjoyed them.

Oooh, have you read the Sign of Seven trilogy?

I'm not sure how chic lit this is but I really liked both of Lolly Winston's books; Good Grief and Happiness Sold Separately.

Definitely want to ditto the Jennifer Weiner suggestion as well!

Count me in as another Sophia Kinsella fan. Aside from Shopaholic series, I liked Can You Keep A Secret as well.

Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen

Julia's Chocolates
by Cathy Lamb

Anything by Jennifer Weiner, although I wasn't thrilled with that last one (Certain Girls) because several areas of the plot were too unrealistic to believe.

I'm a library user, but I've included links to amazon so you can read a description.

The whole series by Emily Griffin (read them in order). OMG, I absolutely loved them. I just saw she has a new one coming out yea :

Otherwise I dont read Chick Lit. I did really enjoy Bergdorf Blondes, hated SATC.

For easy reads I go for Grisham

I second Jen Lancaster. I just finished one of her books and never laughed so much. She is a smart and funny writer.

Oooh, I'm excited to see some new-to-me authors here - can't wait to check them out! :

I second the suggestions for Jennifer Weiner, Katie Fforde, Helen Fielding, and Jane Green. Amaranth, I love British chick lit, too!

I don't care for the Shopaholic books at all - to me, they're just incredibly stressful to read and not funny at all. But I do like her other books, like The Undomestic Goddess and Can You Keep A Secret?
