Soy Lecithin

A good friend of mine who is also a nutritionist advised me to take 2 Tb. of soy lecithin with each meal for healing my liver. Do any of you take soy lecithin on a regular basis? If yes, why and have you noticed it helping?

I bought some capsules once thinking it was just a plain bottle of liquid to try to use for making lotion (have since learned that there are much better emulsifiers, lol)... was trying to break open the capsules to squeeze into the bowl and got it all over my fingers.

I could NOT wash it off. Like, broke out a handful of dishsoap and hot water and couldn't get the weird waxy slick feeling off. I considered keeping it as a supplement since it supposedly has some benefits, but after the hand washing fiasco I tossed them.

I figured if I couldn't wash it off my skin I didn't want to be swallowing it.

Not sure exactly what it's good for, probably something!

I have read it, but I don't really see what was concluded. I'm not the brightest. Are they saying that it's a definite bad thing?

Yes. And it's added to almost all natural chocolate products (I know, not all, but a lot.) Bummer!

I also try to stay far far away from soy in all it's forms (soy lecithin seems to be everywhere, it's very frustrating). I drink kombucha for liver support.
