same here. I think her voice sounds really odd; nothing pretty about it. She, however, is gorgeous... maybe that's what keeps her in the competition. It's honestly painful for my ears when she sings.

See I think there are Allison's out there too. Pink, anyone?

Adam I think would do better in a group, like someone pointed out before, not as a solo singer.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Simon and Paula might have something going on! I would actually like them together. I feel like they have a connection (however crazy it is lol) and they just need to get it over with already, ahem, if you know what I mean. lol

And as crazy as Paula is, I do like her and I don't think AI would be the same w/o her.

My TiVo stopped recording midway through, right after Anoop. We have the cable people coming today because we have so many problems with HD Fox.

I've never liked her voice, even in a song that suits her and she's hitting the notes. It's sort of a cross between Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse, neither of whose voices I like.

She is coasting on her looks, which rubs me the wrong way. It's not a beauty contest.

If the season ended right now and Adam won, I'd be happy. Most of the others are just boring to me. I liked Megan in the very beginning, but she needs to leave now. I was uncomfortable watching them critique Scott. I felt bad for him, he looked like he was trying not to cry....he can go home too. I'm not "getting" the Allison thing either. I guess she is good, but for some reason I just don't really like her. *shrug*

I think he may be trying to cover for her strange behavior sometimes. I remember watching her critique someone. She started and then a loooong pause, she was shaking her head like she couldn't find the words and Simon grabbed her hand under the table. She freaked out and everyone laughed, but it made me wonder if he's trying to help her or take the attention away from her oddities.

I strongly disagree. Some people may not really care for her voice, but a lot of us love her style. She is exactly the type of artist I like. She reminds me more of Fiona Apple. Yeah, she is a beautiful girl, but she also has a talent, style, and voice that a lot of people like.

I thought the beginning of her song was horrible, like it took her the first 30 seconds to find herself. But then she got it back and IMO, sounded great.

i think megan is forcing her sound a little bit. *trying* to really sound like that, more than actually sounding naturally like that. her vibrato is very very forced and she is clunky on the lower notes, ok in the middle, and can't really hit high ones. i liked her tone at first because it sounded funky, but that's when i thought it was her natural sound. but i'm starting to feel more and more that she's trying too hard to sound like that and it's killin' it for me.

adam is by far my favorite, followed by allison, and then matt. "Ring of Fire" was genius, imo. topped david cook's "Billie Jean" magic moment from last year, which is saying a lot.

scott really REALLY is out of his league. i feel like the judges are being WAY too nice to him because of his poor eyesight. which just pisses me off. if he had perfect vision, i don't think he would even have made it to the top 32.

anoop has a good voice but he's just not..*it*.

danny rocks and has an incredible voice. he's just too...."normal" or something. nothing edgy about him. nothing too *interesting*.

michael makes me cringe. i can't stand listening to him or watching him sing. at one point in his song, his voice sounded exactly like that guy who yells "Llllet's get ready to RUMBLE!!!" before wrestling matches. it was not pretty.

kris is completely adn totally forgettable. i literally forget who in the world he is when ryan says "kris is up next". and his face ANNOYS me when he sings. that sideways whatever. his voice is technically good, but his song choices are lame

lil - meh, i think she's overrated. she yelled her song last night. very fast. she needs to do something *interesting* with her voice. the judges are right that she needs a song that breathes more.

for tonight, i hope it's either scott or michael that goes home.

Matt. A few moments gave me chills. I was very impressed with his performance. So glad he picked a good song!

Allison. Phenomenal, as usual. Somebody else said she sounds similar to Pink. I agree, but I like her better than Pink. Doesn't seem so cocky.

For once, I really enjoyed him. He toned it down, wasn't so over the top, and he was believable. And wow! Does he ever look like Elvis! That was just weird.

Megan. Wasn't my favorite performance of hers ever, but I still really dig her style. She needs to work on song choice, for sure.

Anoop. Beautiful! He was right on, in tune, beautiful tone, and so on.

Danny. He bores me.

That was, um... odd. Screetchy, changing the melody too much, over singing it. Not impressed.

Kris. Not bad! I like him. Jason Mraz kinda sound. But then again, he is pretty forgettable.

Scott.He is pretty annoying.

: Michael. He growled liked, 15 times. That totally ruined it for me.

Yep. Adam was safe....cuz he's awesome

I was surprised to see Matt in the bottom three. I thought for sure it would be Megan in that place, she's pretty but she can. not. sing. There is that quality in her voice, I guess it's what everyone else seems to perceive as "unique"...to me, when she sings it just sounds like she's trying to protect her pot o' gold from billy goats going trip-trap trip-trap over her bridge. Leprechaunish with a touch of troll, that sounds meaner than I really mean it...she just sounds...odd to me.

I snorted at the billy goats part. And I love your username!

I can't believe Matt was at the bottom. I love him. I am so over Danny, never liked Adam. I really like Anoop. I don't like Allison at all, I don't know why. I love Kris too.

I usually like Megan when they are showing the rehearsals, then I don't like her performance. She was "vote for the worst" so it doesn't surprise me that she wasn't sent home.

I think Scott needs to go home next.

I agree with every.single.thing you said, IncaMama. We can be Idol buddies!

I felt bad for Scott, when Ryan announced he was in the bottom three. He seemed shocked and wanting to cry. I noticed that Ryan quickly went into, "one of these guys is safe, Scott, you may have a seat, you are safe."

I don't think Scott is very good. I didn't start watching until it was down to 32, and the judges kept saying "we can't wait to hear you back with your piano, because that is where you shine the best". So I've held off judgement of him until I could hear him with the piano. Well, I've heard him with his piano and he isn't that good. He could definately play at some dinner party's but not American Idol good.

I just assumed last nights show would be on at 9, like usual, so I missed it. I tuned in just in time to see them saying bye to Michael. Not surprised, not disapointed. He deserved to go last week, IMO.

I don't think Vote For The Worst really has all that much pull in who stays and who goes. Maybe if the voting was really, really close.. like, less than 1000 votes seperating the bottom two... and they were voting somebody who was in the bottom two.. But they aren't going to take somebody who would otherwise be at the bottom and bring them up to the top.

:

I was giving Megan waaay too much credit when I compared her to Amy Winehouse and Norah Jones. Your comment about Megan's voice makes me think of what I've always said about Stevie Nicks: she sounds like a wounded bird.

I think Matt ended up in the bottom three because he sang first and people forgot about him by the time the show was over. He was great the other night, and absolutely didn't deserve to be in the bottom three.

I think I liked Kris' version of "How Sweet It Is" better than James Taylor's, and I love the James Taylor version. I know he won't win, but I really like him.

I really like Danny, even though some of his performances have been slightly on the boring side. (I could say the same thing about Anoop, particularly this week.) He has the kind of voice I could listen to for an entire album, not just for one song.

I still say Megan is getting through on her looks, and Scott is getting through on the sympathy vote.

That is giving her too much credit. Yeah, sure, Megan has a unique sound, which is fine. I don't mind that. But she can't really sing and has no range. The only thing that is getting her by is her looks and that her voice is different, even though it's terrible. She also has terrible stage presence.

Scott seems a little cocky to me. I didn't like the way he stood there shaking his head at the judges' criticism towards him, which was totally deserved.

Yes, my dh and I say the same thing about Kris.

So I finally got around to watching the show. I CANNOT believe Matt was in the bottom three! And not only that, but the bottom TWO! Scott or Megan deserved to be there based on their performances, not him. Glad Michael was sent home. I liked him but he was out of his league.
