I don't land until about 8pm Friday. I'll be on the West Lawn when the sun's up until the march to the Whitehouse on Monday at 2pm. Flying back to Chicago Tuesday.

I look forward to meeting folks.

The demonstration has gone well so far. I arrived in Washington, DC Tuesday night. It was cold yesterday, but luckily it did not rain. David and two others demonstrated on Tuesday. Yesterday there were five of us. The capitol tours enter and exit on the east side of the Capitol now, so there are not as many people on the west side as last year. Still we talked with quite a few people and distributed a lot of 3x5 cards.

It's raining this morning so we have not gone to the Capitol yet. We will go this afternoon if it clears up this afternoon.

Everyone who is planning to attend should bring rain gear. Rain is forecast for Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully that will change, but it's best to be prepared for rain. Luckily it's forecast to be clear on Monday for the march to the White House.

Thursday report

Because it was raining today we demonstrated at the Capitol in the afternoon. Despite the rain we had several good conversations with students. A group of students from Denmark were very happy to see our demonstration.

The weather forecast for Sunday has improved. It's now forecast to be mostly cloudy instead of raining. Unfortunately rain is still forecast for Saturday.

Due to the rain in the forecast, it looks like it will just be me going down on Sunday. So I will see you all there Sunday instead of sat and sunday...we just didn't want to spend the $$ to bring the whole family down and have to deal with rain.

Still can't wait for sunday though! see you there!

I know, the weather has me concerned as well as I'll have the baby with me too. My dh will have the girls seeing "the city". I may have to cut my time short if it rains.

That was our big concern; plus the kids won't be able to have fun on the mall or with any of the outdoor cherry blossom festivities. So I am going to drive up Sunday early morning (leaving here 7AMish) and I'll head back late afternoon. I can't stay for the celebration at night because I only have enough milk stored for the day....though maybe I will bring Ruby if the weather still looks good for sunday.

we shall see...either way, I will be there sunday!

I would be there in a heart beat if we were not moving next Tuesday. I'm so bummed. You guys have fun and bring a poncho!

Friday report

We had a great day today. There were lots of tourists at the Capitol because it was warm all day. One highlight was a group of nurses who asked to have their picture taken with the "You wanna cut off what?" sign.

The weather forecast keeps changing. Now it looks like it is going to rain on and off all weekend, but it could change again.

I really wanted to make it, especially Sunday, but I can't due to (lack of) childcare. I will, however, be helping a pro-intact org at a baby/birth seminar closer to home this weekend.

I went to the DC demonstration a few years ago and helped for a day. I hope that all of you who are considering going out there will do so!

Many more intactivist joined us for the demonstration this weekend. We had lots of good conversations with the tourists.

Tomorrow is the march from the White House to the Capitol. We will be in front of the White House in the morning before the march.

We were lucky this weekend with the weather. On Saturday it was overcast and misty all day, but it didn't rain. Sunday was sunny and windy.
