subbing

Happy Birthday to your ds!

subbing. Almost done with the bedrooms - again. LOL. Doing my room today. Yesterday I even moved the boys' bunkbeds. I just felt I couldn't clean properly without doing that. My back doesn't even hurt now...

Got bad news about school next year. Tell me I have the koach to homeschool. I really don't know if I do. I was so looking forward to sending the twins out for part of the day. I really, really was. I've been telling myself that I could make it through this spring and summer (with no camp) because I just knew! that they'd get to go to school in the fall.
Now, I'm so very sad.

Mazal tov Chavi!

We have lots of Nissan b-days around here, including Avishai turning 1 in a few days. Please tell me how that happened so fast? DD #2 celebrates her bat mitzvah 3 days after the end of Pesach. My b-day and dd #3 are in there too. Whew!

Playdough is chametz, regardless of what kind of flour you use. But, if you selling your chametz, you can include it in the sale and put it away with your chametz food.

Tikva - sorry about the school issue.

Rivka. You CAN homeschool your kids- it may not be easy, but it's definitely do-able. It's a shame we don't live closer- you could come visit and let my girls take care of the twins for a few hours (they LOVE playing with babies and little kids!) while we could sit and chat.

As far as getting playdough out of the carpet- just do the best you can. If it's wedged in there so tightly that you can't get the last remnents out, then those remnants aren't going to come loose during Pesach either. They'll become "as ownerless as the dust of the earth" when you make that declaration after the search for chametz.

We're almost done with Pesach shopping- well the non-perishables anyway. I still need nuts, sugar, and a few more jars of gefilte fish, and packing tape to fasten the "shelf liner" to my counters. I haven't even begun buying meat, dairy, or produce.

thanks if only we could move one week earlier, we'd be all ready in time.
I might get the carpets cleaned, i don't know.
i have not bought ANYTHING yet, i don't know, i might do a big shop on Monday.

You could ask a Rav but applying any type of cleaner to it (especially a harsher one) would most likely render it inedible anyway. You would need to ask a Rav but it's worth looking into.

I got to take a shabbos afternoon ambulance ride with Avishai after he fell down the entire flight of stairs to the basement. Yes, I have a mounted baby gate at the top of the stairs, but it doesn't help if someone leaves it open. I'm now in the market for an auto-close gate. This one someone recommended, but I'm open to suggestions. Bring 'em on.

R'S' to him C8, How is he doing now?
B'H, bumps and bruises (I think he has one for each step), but otherwise fine.

Oy. Stairs scare me--and we don't have any inside the house.

One of the twins that I'm pumping milk for was in the hospital for two days with a UTI. It was a very scary time for the parents, but the worst is over. She's on antibiotics for two weeks. I think I'll pick up some liquid probiotics the next time I'm at the health food store.
It turns out that neither the surrogate nor the egg donor are Jewish, so I'm glad that the babies are getting Jewish milk. They're doing a Reform conversion this summer, and they'll probably talk with the kids about doing a more stringent conversion when they're older. The mom didn't carry the babies because she has cancer, which they think is very treatable. If they hadn't told me, I never would have guessed.

c'8s - !! I hope your little one heals quickly. We have 4 sets of stairs in our house and 5 gates.

the snow had all melted and we even went on our first spring hike yesterday, and now, it's snowing. A lot. and sticking. thtbhtbthbttbhtbthtbth

no passover shopping completed. no brick and mortar stores locally at which to do such a thing. At least I've gotten some cleaning done.

Hey
I just got home from Mini Cheder , we had a lovely mini seder , it was great!
Anyway, I have an important question, we are moving on the 17th, & this house has more rooms than our old house, so i am in desperate need of spare mezuzot. I thought, before ordering new ones, i should ask you if anyone has any spare & would like to do a swap. I could send you british things,or handmade things, anything really. Please let me know!!!
I beleive you have 30 days to put new mezuzot up, so you've got a bit of time to obtain them.

Today at the synagogue, I went to a class on tzitzit, the laws and how to tie them. It was fascinating. What was sad, though, was that, other than the rabbi, there was only one man--who brought his daughter--and about a dozen women. I would have liked to have thought that the men would be at least as interested as the women.

Adding: I have two copies of Jewish Culture and History for Dummies--I'd bought one and then receieved one as a gift from my parents--and I'd love for someone who would actually read it to take one. PM me if you want one.
