looking for radical friends

where would you post ads to find local parents of a radical/feminist/leftist persuasion, to discuss issues around raising non consumer, non racist, non gender stereotyping etc children?

my only like minded mum friend & i want to set up a discussion group... but we don't know anyone else (lots of nice mums but not on the same page as us about certain issues)

(i don't want to talk about breastfeeding, co sleeping, babywearing, cloth nappies etc - i want to talk about parenting in a politically aware context)

are you in london, mshiss? that would be great!

This sounds great.

Most of my mum friends aren't even 'radical' enough to be talking about cloth nappies and co-sleeping, so discussing non-consumer and gender issues would be revolutionary and refreshing.

Where in London are you? I'm in SE13...

I'd like to know more, I'm not in London but not THAT far away.

We are TV free so we're not into commercialism. I still am wondering who Pepa pig is

Sorry!! I'm in Kentucky, I was NAK and didn't get that you were forming a non-virtual group. GOod luck!! It sounds like fun!

Calpurnia we should really get together sometime!

I'm in Tulse Hill SW2. My kids are all autonomous edders/ radical unschoolers and since mine are all big now I've gone beyond wanting to talk about birth, breastfeeding and Elimination Communication. Those days are over for me ( although I'm still passionate about that stuff!)

My crew are 17, 16, 13, almost 11 and 8

Let's get together for a pint and a chat! Sometimes Knittinanny and I get together...you out there, friend?? She's close by too!

Peace Peeps
