I'm not sure if this is already well known (or maybe already mentioned or mentioned too late for those of you that don't procrastinate on your taxes), but according to this publications from the IRS website, fertility treatments are tax deductible.

Not to be a downer, but just wanted to make sure you're aware that you can only deduct it if the total medical expenses equal 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. From the IRS pub you cited:

"How Much of the Expenses Can You Deduct?
You can deduct only the amount of your medical and dental expenses that is more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (Form 1040, line 38).
In this publication, the term “7.5% limit” is used to refer to 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. The phrase “subject to the 7.5% limit” is also used. This phrase means that you must subtract 7.5% (.075) of your adjusted gross income from your medical expenses to figure your medical expense deduction."

So you need to figure out how much you spent versus how much you earned to see if you are eligible to deduct medical expenses. If so, go for it!

Just itemized my fert-related receipts, of which I'm sure I don't even have all of. Umm, so we spent 25% of our AGI trying to have a baby. Isn't that special since it doesn't include this years IVF and as of yet, we do not have said baby.
