The color, appearance and over all viscosity can vary. Sometimes it looks like a bit of debris other times it can be viscous as you describe. The pearl he had probably just broke up and passed in urine. I don't think ABX will be necessary and don't worry about not knowing and asking questions, that's what we're here for.
