Does Coconut oil have to be refrigerated?

I currently keep my coconut oil in the fridge, but I find it a huge pain to use in baking because it is so hard. Can I keep it outside of the fridge so it is a little easier to work with? If so, how long do you think it would last before it went bad?

Thanks,

It's good outside the fridge indefinitely. No need to refrigerate at all. I've never heard of co going bad or turning rancid.
