Thanks for the info. I was just researching it a bit more, and found some things including this (thought mamavegan might be interested):
|Children under one year of age whose mothers have had chickenpox are not very likely to catch it. If they do, they often have mild cases, because they retain partial immunity from their mothers' blood. Children under one year of age whose mothers have not had chickenpox, or whose inborn immunity has already waned, can get severe chickenpox. Children with other serious illnesses such as leukemia often have complicated cases.
From a variety of sources, looks like it can be 4-6 days before the lesions crust over.
Ugh! I wish he hadn't just missed this whole week of school already. Sigh. (They sent him home for "suspected conjunctivitis" when there's nothing wrong Thursday; he only goes Tues/Thurs.)
Anyway, I will give you a call tomorrow if we can come by. I do want to get this over and done with! I agree that the timing doesn't look great for the next round... And after that, we may be trying to do swimming lessons.
