New to the Petaluma/Santa Rosa area

Hey guys!! I've just landed in the Petaluma(living)/Santa Rosa(working) area from Santa Monica and would love to get linked up with any other moms in the area.

DH and I have been married for 6.5 years and have an 18mos DS. We met in the Bay Area (East Bay) but moved south so DH could go back to school. I just completed my Master's and switched careers (from event planning to marketing at Whole Foods). We're temp. living with my mom in Petaluma but hope to move to Sebastopol as soon as my DH finds work (any leads welcome!!).

I had a wonderful home birth (tried for water birth but no go on that) and we are delayed/selective vaxing. We CD'd until we moved and are in sposies now until everything gets settled. We're still BFing. : Based on my place of employment you can probably tell that we love all things organic and healthy; we have plans for a summer vegetable garden. :

We just located a Waldorf-inspired day care for DS and hope to send him to College Oak Montessori either this fall when he's two or wait a year until he's three (still on the fence on that one). We are also pretty anti-MIC and pro-wood/nat. materials when it comes to toys...my current crafty passion after DS goes to sleep at nights is making felt food for his play kitchen.

Hope to hear from you soon!!

Hi! I lived in Santa Rosa for 9 years, and sort of grew up there too because my dad lived there and I visited every weekend. Anyhow.

You may want to check out : http://www.sonomacountymom.com/ It's not a naturally minded forum and it's a little clique-y, but there's lots of great ladies on there just the same.

What an awesome job, working for whole foods!!

There is also the Petaluma Mom's Club, but other than having checked out their website I don't know anything about them:

I didn't like the Santa Rosa Mother's Club. My friend and I had a *very* bad experience with them, but I heard some of the surrounding mom's clubs are good. And maybe things have changed, this was a few years ago.

I did hear that some of the other ones are good though, like the Windsor one I know was supposed to be really fun. Don't know about Petaluma.
