We don't make a lot of sweet things here... so I'm looking for your best TF cookie/bar recipe. I am going shopping tomorrow so I can pick up ingredients I do not already have.

THANK YOU :

I have a sourdough one somewhere but I haven't made it in ages:

Healthy Cranberry Bars
I keep making these and they both make a decent breakfast and snack: 2 cups sourdough starter
4 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon each cinnamon and nutmeg (can substitute any spices you like)
1.5 cups dried sweetened cranberries
can add 1/2 cup sugar, but the sweetened cranberries make this plenty sweet.
Preheat oven to 325. Whip eggs until lighter in color. Add sourdough starter a spoonful at a time with your mixer on low. Add baking soda and spices. Fold in cranberries. Pour into a buttered and floured 9Ă—13 pan. Bake for 45 minutes. Let cool in pan, cut and store in covered container.

Subbing... My husband has quite the sweet tooth and said he will eat all the healthy food I cook for him if I will make sure to have some sweets in the house.

i just made great peanut butter cookies that are 80% tf, but you could do them 100%. i followed mark bittmans regular pb cookie recipe and subbed my tf ingredients when needed:

cream 2 sticks butter with 3/4 cup sucanat, 3/4-1 cup real pb chrunchy or smooth, add in two eggs, blend, add some vannilla. then mix wet ingredients with 1 teaspoon baking bowder, 2 cups flour of your choice, i used 1 cup sprouted whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup almond meal and 1/2 c white king arthur flour. add a small dash of real salt. add in semi-sweet chocolate chips or walnuts or salted peanuts or coconut shredded. form dough into small balls and flatten with a fork. bake on a greased cookie sheet at 375 for about 9 minutes.

Can you substitute M&M's for the semi-sweet chips in this recipe?

A peanut butter cookie with JUST 2 c. peanut butter, 1 c. sucanat and 1 egg is really yummy too! And super easy!
You may want to double check that recipe though... did it off the top of my head. I think you can get it at the nourishinggourmet.com

If you have Nourishing Traditions, the oatmeal cookie recipe in there with yogurt is really good - I use dried sour cherries instead of raisins, and it's even better!

Here's my recipe for maple syrup shortbread:
* 2 Cups Organic, Sprouted Whole Grain Flour
* ÂĽ t Real Salt or Celtic Sea Salt
* 1 Cup Organic Butter from Grass-fed Cows, Softened
* ÂĽ Cup Organic Grade-B Maple Syrup

Preheat the oven to 350° F.

Whip the maple syrup and butter together until the syrup is thoroughly incoroprated into the butter. Next, add the flour and salt and mix thoroughly. On a floured board, roll the dough into a disk and place it on a cookie sheat or preheated baking stone. Prick the dough slightly with a fork and gently score the disk into 6-8 individual portions or as desired. Bake for 15 minutes or until the shortbread is slightly golden.

I like to make the muffins from NT, but I sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top (at least they're organic!). So yummy, they hit the spot when I've craving something sweet, and I don't feel too guilty about it.
