Nursing in public in Colorado

This is coming up before the state...as law to allow women to nurse wherever they are allowed to be. I had no idea that Colorado didn't already have something like that in place...but I just saw this on the news.

I can't find a link to the story, but I will post as soon as I do.

Perhaps this is a good time for writing to your representative to encourage them to favor this?

I will post when I have more info!

Just so you know, women have the right to breastfeed wherever they have the right to otherwise be, in all 50 states. Some states have laws that say this, and some don't, but the right always exists nonetheless. When a state passes such a law, it is only to clarify that right. Definitely support the legislation! But don't worry that you might not be allowed to breastfeed in public if your state doesn't have a law yet.

Right, it is not illegal to breastfeed anywhere in the US. It's just that some states have decided to pass law to further protect nursing mothers.

My understanding from what I have heard is the private property issue, such as a restaurant. where the owner may be able to boot you because you are on his property.

BUt, regardless, this is still a good reason for thow of you in CO to write!! I personally am not worried about it just yet, as I have yet to get pregnant...but I would like to be able to cite law at the schmuck who tires to chuck me out of somewhere in the future.
