thanks so much!

Hi Kris. Have you checked into Castleton school? I'm not sure if their k-garten is half day or full day. The schools in the region seem to be half and half on this, with more and more of them leaning toward full day k-garten.

In Rutland there really aren't options, now that Mountain View has closed. Both of the public k-gartens in Rutland (Northeast School and Northwest School) are full day.

thanks lauren-- castleton is full day. i didn't know mountain view closed. we are going to visit castleton on tuesday... kaylo is super shy but feels a lot of accomplishment when he does independent things... wish there was a happy medium for the schooling decision (like 1/2 day kindergarten)!!

The closest place I am aware of is Barstow school in Chittenden. However, there is some talk about them switching to full day.

FWIW, you can home school and send your child part time. There have recently been a couple children at the Northwest school who went just in the morning or for particular classes.

Hi Kris,

Chaska goes to Sugarwood School in Rutland Town. It is an independent school that only serves six kids. It is a K-3 school. He is also very shy and has had a wonderful year there. I am sure that there are some kids there that only attend a half of day. Pm me or call and I will share more if you are interested.
