Hi! I am Mandi. I am a sahm to my ds Tripp who is almost 22 months old. My hubby is in school full time studying landscape architecture with an emphasis on sustainability. We live on an old farmstead and grow a lot of our own food organically. We have chickens, dogs, and a kitty. We were hoping to begin raising our own livestock as well this year.

Im pretty surprised to be here!! We planned on ttc starting in July of this year, so we just have an early surprise. Im pretty sure we concieved mid March, so by counting weeks I should have a mid December- Solstice baby. I am planning on another homebirth with my same midwife as with Tripp. I have to say I am pretty excited after I got over the shock!!

Cant wait to get to know you ladies better!! I havent frequented MDC much the past year or so as my old July 07 DDC moved offsite and I chat with them a lot, but I will be here a lot more now!

Hello everyone!

My name is Sara and I live in the mountains of North Carolina with my husband and daughter. This is my second pregnancy - I spent days, maybe weeks worth of hours on here with my first. We just found out three days ago... so still soaking it all in. My due date range is late December through early January. Looking forward to spending the next months getting to know you ladies.

Hi, my name is Angela, 23 years old, and have been married for almost four years.
My EDD is December 31st.
This will be our second child, completely planned. They will 21 months apart.
I'll be bouncing between here and the January DDC, but knowing my history, I might be induced early.

We live in the Boston area. We moved out here from Arizona when Caleb was two months old. I'm pretty nervous about expanding our family with no real support system nearby- besides my husband and the ladies at church. No family, I should say.

My husband will also be starting grad school at Harvard this September. YIKES. So I don't plan on really seeing him for the next four years!

Here's to a healthy nine months, ladies!

: Welcome all!

Hi, my name's Carson and I'm 27, pg with my first. We were just letting nature take it's course, so I would say it's planned, but I'm still in shock over the whole thing. I live in Chicago and am into frugal/simple living. We're planning a homebirth and I'm really excited.

ETA, I have a flex schedule at home/in office and DH works 24h shifts. Right now we're in a situation that will allow both of us to work and both of us to co-parent, which is pretty awesome! I do need to get childcare for weekdays when DH works, but will likely drive to my parents on those days.

Hi everybody--I figure this is the place for me to start posting.

I'm Kate, 22, and I'm six weeks pregnant with my first--very very unplanned, and I'm still in shock! I found out about a week and a half ago, and after many tears and an emotionally-charged conversation with my boyfriend, we've decided that having this baby is the right decision for us. I still haven't told my parents or his--but that's a different thread entirely.

I live in a tiny studio apartment in Brooklyn and would love to have a homebirth, but, due to thin walls and practically no space, I'm getting my prenatal care and birthing at an independent birth center. I have my first appointment in two weeks.

Hello! My name is Ulana (29), and I'm currently a stay-at-home mama to my 11 month old daughter Haly. Seems that I'm due around Christmas, but will confirm all at an appointment in a few weeks. I live in the little old state of Rhode Island with my Danny, my husband of 6 years. Excited to be adding to the family, still doesn't feel real!

I'm Ser, 33 years old in Columbus, Ohio. I have been lurking here for a week or so but finally found a break in my nausea in order to join and introduce myself. This is my third child, a happy surprise. I'm not sure if this will be a home or hospital birth, as I'm trying to work out the details of money/insurance etc. at the moment--not easy while vomiting multiple times per day. The sickness is definitely worse this time. Anyway, I'm happy to be chiming in.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum. I married my husband in December 2008. He is in the Army and stationed about 1,000 miles away currently. We are expecting our first baby on Christmas day! We're both hoping for a girl. I'm hoping my husband will be able to come home for my first ultrasound at the end of May.

Solstice baby

Hi everyone,

I'm due with our second at the end of December. According to my ovulation, we're expecting the baby's due date to be Dec 25th, but I saw elsewhere on here that it was a solstice baby and I like the sound of that ALOT better than a Christmas one!! :

Anyhow, we have a 19 mo daughter, Quincy, who will be 26 months when this little one arrives. Its so nice to be back on Mothering, I haven't really visited regularly since I was pg with Q.

Nice to 'meet' you all!

Hello!

My husband of 6 years, our 2.5 year old daughter (m), and I are expecting a new little one around Dec 22. The new addition is planned and we are starting to get excited. (I had a couple of early miscarriages before getting prego with M.. so the excitement has been slow to build.)

I work full time as an engineer for my city and DH is an attorney. I stayed home for a year with the first due to a temporary job my husband took, but I won't be able to do that this time around (though I am trying to come up with a plan for an extended leave by working part time).

It's nice to meet everyone! Good luck on sucessful pregnancies to all!

Hi!

Hello everyone! It is nice to be back here at MDC. I haven't been around much in the past year or two but I'm feeling the pull now that I found out we are expecting our third (and final) babe. This little one was totally unplanned and quite a shock, since we were using 2 methods of BC and I had an appt for an IUD. The universe had other plans, however, and we really couldn't be happier! I always expected to have 3 kids and, after my divorce, I thought it would never happen. I'm now engaged to the love of my life and he is beside himself with excitement at the prospect of becoming a dad!

We had a miscarriage 2 years ago this month, so it has been hard relaxing this time around... but I'm feeling positive!

I'm due right around the 31st and will hopefully have the homebirth that I so desperately wanted last time around. I have a bleeding disorder however, and may have to be in the hospital with my wonderful midwife again. I am so looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know everyone. I miss the closeness of the community I had around me when I was pregnant with my son!

Hi Everyone! I'm Bonnie & our second is due on Dec 8, one day after DD's birthday, rofl! I'm 39 & am a retired soldier, now a SAHM. We had a miscarriage in February and, since Anna's still nursing, my cycle was pretty screwy after that. Screwy-er than we imagined, cause we certainly weren't trying to get pregnant. I'll be popping in & out of the DDC so thought it would be polite to introduce myself. Hi to fellow Dec 07 DDC'er, AGlimmeringHope!

Hi everyone! Congratulations to all the lovely ladies who have gotten a BFP!!!!: I recieved my BFP on April 20 and my doctor says my EDD is Dec 29th. I am 20 years old and just moved to Daytona Beach FL from the eastern shore of Maryland. My fiance and I are getting married this July. It is gonna be casual, and I'm most likely gonna just wear a summer dress, loose fitting and such. I am currently 7 weeks 2 days pg. My side of the family knows already. my MIL and FIL don't know yet and we are gonna wait a little longer before telling them. My fiance's name is Ray and we have been engaged for 2 years and together for 3 years. I am currently unemployed...but actively looking and we sold our business in Md and now he works as a mechanic at a shop here in Daytona. In our spare time we drag race bikes, however, I sold mine, unfortunetly, but I still ride, and will until I physically can't. It is my passion.

This is our first pregnancy and are looking forward to having a little one around, this is something we have wanted for awhile. We weren't trying either! God just blessed us with the greatest gift we could ever ask for.

Hi

Hello everyone! My name is Michelle and I am from the mountains of NC. I have been a member for a while of a local mommies forum in my area, and decided I wanted to branch out a bit. I have followed mothering for a few years now. I am a mommy to one DD, age 2 and one on the way (due Dec. 9, 2009). I work full-time as a Spanish teacher at an elementary school, so life is pretty full and hectic right now. Looking forward to getting to know you ladies!

I'm new!!

Hi! I'm Catherine. I'm 35 years old and just a few days shy of 9 weeks pg with our 3rd baby. DD #1 is 5 years, dd#2 is 17 months and my due date with this one is Christmas Eve. I've had half of my pregnancies up to this point end in miscarriage - so I'm practically holding my breath until I get my first appointment with my midwife next Tuesday to get that confirmation ultrasound to make sure everythings going okay. Luckily, with 2 little ones, I keep pretty busy so time seems to be on my side this time around. Both of my girls were born at home and we are planning another homebirth this time around. I'm hoping this time though, to make it into the birth tub in time to have our first water birth at home... I don't get online that often, but I will happy to check in whenever I get a chance!! Nice to meet you all!!

Hello and congrats to all of you!

Hi all! I'm Chris (33), mama to Audrey (16 months) and wife to Todd (33). We live in Austin, TX and recently learned that I'm pregnant again, due in early December! Getting pregnant with Audrey was a 2 year long journey through infertility treatments and a myriad of tests. This baby is an unexpected surprise, especially since I'm still nursing my sweet girl. We couldn't be happier.

Audrey was born in the hospital, med-free with a doula. This babe will be born in a local birthing center since I'm low risk this time

Very happy to be here. Best of luck to all of you!

Hello all,
I have a due date of 12/1 so I just barely fit into this group . I'm 35 and preggo with my third. DH and I have two boys, 5 and 3. We live in the Chicago area but are looking to relocate to Portland, OR if we can sell our house. I'm looking forward to checking in on here when I can (especially not that my nausea is almost gone) and I would also love to connect with some Portland moms, if possible.

I'm still trying to decide what kind of birth I want to TRY for. My first was a hospital birth with pain management. My second was also at a hospital but was natural (i.e. unmedicated). I wasn't as prepared as I should have been for natural childbirth and would really like to find some better techniques than the typical Lamaze I learned in my childbirth class.

Congrats to you all on your pregnancies!
Amy
