somewhat absorbent swim diaper?

Hi,
I am looking for a swim diaper that has a little bit of absorbency. I have an Imse Vimse, and if my son is in the swim diaper on the way to the pool or beach and pees, he winds up peeing on me or the stroller.

On the other extreme, I have an iPlay swim diaper that is TOO absorbent. When I took it on our trip to Brazil, it never dried out overnight and wound up getting musty and nasty.

Is there something in between these two that I could use?

I don't know of any specific swim diapers to solve the problem, but you could use a pocket diaper with a wash cloth stuffed inside for a bit of absorbency. Or you could just remove the stuffer before swimming?

IME, at that age you just change at the pool Been there, done that.

I had a feeling someone would say this. It is much easier for us to get ready at home, hence my need for a somewhat absorbent swim diaper. If I could put it on him at the beach, I'd just use the Imse Vimse that I already have.

I think I would use a pocket diaper and then just pull the insert out before baby goes in the water.

But that's just what i have in mind; I have no experience whatsoever!

The other option I'd consider is the pocket idea. but if you're taking a pocket diaper off to unstuff, you might as well change the diaper at the same time IMO.

What about putting the swim diaper on him & then another diaper overtop - it would be easier to remove the outer diaper at the beach/pool then to try to take an insert out of a diaper he's wearing.

I always change ds at the pool/beach.
