Except for the often you mentioned I guess we really should still seek it out. What are you opinions on our situation?
Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking?
When I was pregnant, I had blood drawn, one of the things it looks for is varicella and rubella....
From my understanding the titres will show if you have immunity (thru exposure or vax).
Another poster mentioned that titres are not reliable-- and I was asking for clarification on that.

The Vaccines are not 100%
My nephew who was vaccinated less than a year ago, now has chicken pox.
Of course the doctor said it was a mild case because he was vaccinated
Not that some people just get a milder case ( I know a few)

Yup, My DS's case was mild and he is completely unvaxed.

I'm a selective/delayed vaccinator... my oldest child still hasn't had the Chicken Pox vaccine (he's 11), but my second son and my daughter were both got the vaccination just before they started kindergarten. Youngest got it at 18 months old when the pediatrician forgot to mention that they were using an MMR/Varivax combination now... grrr.

Oldest ds didn't get the varivax because his pediatrician at the time didn't feel comfortable with the slight risk of getting CP from the vax... ds had severe eczema for a long time, and apparently having severe eczema and chicken pox is not a good combination most of the time.

My siblings and I all got chicken pox naturally. My brother and I were 2-3 years old, and only got it once, but my younger sisters actually had chicken pox twice. Once as toddlers, and again as teenagers.

It is interesting that your ped. didnt want to give your child with severe eczema the cp vax yet my dd's ped. bullied me into getting it because she had severe eczema. He told me that should dd get cp she would probably end up in the hospital because of it so I caved and got it for here

Sure would be nice if the health care community would get on the same page about things at least :
