Chicken Pox in MA / North Shore

We are in Danvers, MA (about 45 minutes from Portsmouth/Dover/Seacoast area) and my DS has the pox (first bumps appeared last night).

There's been much less interest from folks in MA than I expected, so I figured I'd post here too. It would be nice to keep it going.

More info in my thread on the MA/CT/RI forum:

Hi! I would definitely love to expose! I talked to the NH mom that was at the Plymouth party but no signs there yet. I'm on the NH seacoast, just over the border and would love to get together. PM please if you'd like to get together. Thanks!

in NH next weekend

We'll be going down to NH next weekend and could swing down to Danvers on Sunday if it's still available!

Unfortunately, I don't think that my DS will be still be contagious by next weekend. The first spots appeared on Thursday, so I'd say he'll be contagious until Wednesday (4/1) at the latest. But I will post again if my DD gets it too!

mandcc96 may be coming tomorrow or Monday, so she may bring it up to NH.

krismarie - our house is not far off of Rt. 95 (5 or so minutes), 35 minutes south of the NH/MA boarder.

Update: Saturday 3/28 5pm

Just checked my DD, and she now also has the pox. She only has about 10 spots so far, but a couple are oozy. DS probably has 100 spots, mostly isolated to his "trunk", with a few on his face, neck and legs.

So, that should mean that we'll be contageous throughout the week I think.

DD really enjoys whistles, harmonicas, kazoos and sippy cups, so it should be easy to share

PM me if you want to come by during the week.

I might be tempted to come down on Tuesday, my in-laws are in Newburyport so maybe we can do a 2 for one. Is Tues. ok for you? It would be in the afternoon.

Sarah - I will PM you.

ramlita - Thanks

Amanda - My DD had new spots today, but my son did not seem to (it gets a little hard to tell!), so I think it's pretty unlikely she'll still be contagious by Sunday. There were a couple of people who came from NH though, so they may be bringing it up that way

Thank you MAMom for calling me this afternoon. I realized after we hung up that all my questions were making me sound like a reporter! I apologize. I was curious if your children had been vaccinated because I'm more interested in exposing my children to the Wild Type virus, and not the attenuated vaccine virus. As you probably know, people can actually catch the vaccine virus from people who recently received the vaccine. So I was wondering if your children had recently received the vaccine, or if you knew if they had been in contact with anyone who had been recently vaccinated. I hope you now understand my questions, and don't think I'm a nut. Thanks again for helping out us other moms.

Hey everybody
Here's a big thread we've had going for a while about sharing pox in VT/NH/ME:

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...&highlight=pox

Could we all get together and use that one thread,
so everybody gets the message when there's activity?
That would rock
