sorry i should have titled this what triggers US & calming things we might do for US to calm ourselves down...

especially w/ those of us who have very strong-willed/spirited kids, i was thinking we could share our triggers for when we usually would and/or do get reactive & anything we might do to cool off before we could get reactive to avoid getting so in a negative way...

i'm not always so great at this but i made a list this morning of 3 areas: 1. things that trigger me about dd's behavior 2. how i feel when i am getting upset/angry 3. how i feel when i'm enraged/furious/in a fiery 4. calming things i can do before i ever get to # 3.oh and add one more... 4. how i feel after i've reacted & carried out #3...maybe we can share these w/ one another... our 1-4's.

sorry i'm rushing as my toddler wants my attention...and my vocab isn't so great...

sidenote: i have told my 6.5 yo dd that we do not touch private parts on other people...specifically her brother who is 16 mos. now...she wants to touch his penis & just now she was tickling it...i said don't do that, we don't do that...and she just simply stated that she wanted to tickle it and that it was funny...and that her brother thought it was funny...i said maybe so but we don't do that honey...sigh...guess she forgot about the no-touchy rule???!!! (and no, i don't believe she's been 'tickled' by anyone...but i will ask her........ok i just asked her very non-chalantly if anyone's ever tickled her 'giney' & she said 'yes' and i said 'who???', again very non-chalantly...she says....'you!' and i was like HUH??? no i haven't......she said yes you have...right here (and she points to her abdomen above her vagina...silly)...i said that isn't your vagina sweetie, that is your lower tummy...part of your stomach. so i asked her if anyone else has tickled her giney and she said no...phew.
