How do you find fleece covers?

I'm still investigating options for upcoming baby (August). I have used bum genius and fuzzibunz on my dd who is almost two, and I haven't really liked them. I find all that synthetic makes her rashy and the microfiber inserts can hold a stink very stubbornly. I also have a small (12 dipes) stash of motherease one size, which I quite like, but I am not happy with my covers. I do like my wool aristocrat and was thinking of just acquiring more wool covers and some more fitteds and perhaps some prefold for the new baby, but I must say I prefer the wool as just a nighttime cover, as it makes the baby look downright deformed it is so huge.

So anyways, I'm really needing some nice cover options. I'd love to find some minky ones, but here in Canada I'm having crappy luck. And I'm curious as to have you guys have found fleece.

I have good experience with fleece but there is such a wide range on the market that you have to be really careful you don't buy bad quality, which is useless.

OK... that is promising.

I have noticed that there are covers that are 2 layers of fleece with a layer of PUL sandwiched between, and there are single layer fleece covers too.

Do the single layer covers really prevent the moisture from escaping?

Thanks!

I haven't used fleece covers, but Bummis makes a Polar Bummis cover in fleece and I think their PUL covers are of teriffic quality. Also check out this link http://www.happyheinystore.com/catalog.php?category=78 to Happy Heiny's fleece covers. The HH uses Malden Mills fleece, which is very high quality.

Personally, I only used fleece covers w/o a waterproof layer, and rarely had any moisture wicking through them (it'd happen on a big nighttime wet only, pretty much). Proper care of a fleece cover (no liquid detergent or fabric softeners) will help keep it from wicking moisture through. Not using microfiber inserts/doublers in combo with a fleece cover also helps too.

Sugar peas fleece covers are excellent (so are the wool - much trimmer than many other wool covers as well). I think Jamtots is a Canadian company, so you'd probably find them somewhere more easily?

Dancing Bears is a fleece cover in the style of an Aristocrat.

i LOVE polar babies... they run about 2 sizes too small though, so size up.

Yes; the Dancing Bears even says to use powder, though it doesn't matter if you use liquid.
