Why I want To marry the Man with the Yellow Hat

He's extremely intelligent about a wide range of topics.

He works hard but he goes to his country house every weekend so he's not a workaholic.

He's a good dad to George, sets boundaries but encourages exploration and self-expression and stays positive.

He's a great neighbor... always helping others. Great sense of community.

oh there's more but I'd better stop... I think I could get over the obsession with yellow.

Yes, but if you know the origins of Curious George way back in the day, you'll see that the Man in the Yellow Hat stole George from the wild as an infant. Hmmph.

He also smokes. Maybe he quit recently though.

And George lived at the zoo. The Man in the Yellow Hat visited on weekends.

Man, talk about stompin' on a girl's fantasy... yikes :

OK... let me edit to say current PBS MWYH and most recent animated movie MWYH who did none of these vile things.

This is true, it is now a kinder, gentler, new age sensitive Man in the Yellow Hat.

The Man in the Yellow Hat is also gentle while still retaining masculinity.

I gotcha

Well, yes, but that was back in the day, when those sorts of things were acceptable and people didn't really stop and think about how horrible it was. After all, they were just animals.

Frankly I don't think he's that good of a parent. He leaves that monkey (APE APE APE!!) unsupervised way too much and he gets into far too much trouble. He needs to keep him closer to him and give him more guidance rather than more freedom.

And someone needs to smack that Bill kid. George is not a city kid, for the love of all that is holy. He was born IN THE JUNGLE. Not a city kid!!1

Yall are funny.

I have a question though...this has been bugging me since we saw the movie. Since when is his name TED??? I asked a friend of mine and she said "Oh it's always been Ted. It was mentioned in a few of the books". We've read probably all of them and I don't ever remember seeing him have a name. Can anyone give me a specific title where he is referred to as Ted?

oh, if they ever made a CG2, I sooo wish there'd be some spoof of the 80s song....

I've got my hat.....on
I've got my boots....dusty

Ted, oh Ted, fighting off danger!

*sigh* even animated men aren't perfect

LOL :: I posted a similar thread about a year ago...

I'm right there with ya!! Except we would have to have a SERIOUS discussion about wardrobe.

BTW- I also mean the pbs show and recent movie.

The early eps of CG used to drive me crazy- I mean why let a monkey be in charge of <insert candy store, italian restaurant, space station repair- take your pick> but then I started to REALLY like it.

And the Bill thing- I'd take Bill over Steve any day. Steve makes me want to

I hope I didn't smash your dreams to pieces. I understand cartoon crushes; mine isn't even human. Please don't say anything bad about Tony the Tiger, he's been my dream guy since I was about four years old.

THANK YOU! DD watches George and she and my mom and I are always getting mad because he leaves George alone..like leaving a two-year-old alone and yes, that Bill makes me INSANE!

My 8 year old and I have a huge ongoing thing about all the things we can't stand about Curious George. It's really pretty funny. Dd adores George so we mock very quietly.

dd2 is really into George. Not the show though, loves loves loves the books and has a george from kohls who sleeps w her, makes pancakes w her, likes to go to movies....

I snagged a George hardback book w 7 stories in it for $1 last week.

I dont know why she is not into the show, I would prefer it to Dora....UGH

I love, love, love this show! : I'm even a little disappointed if DS1 chooses not to watch tv when it's time for CG. I think the new man with the yellow hat is a wonderful role model.

Milo from Atlantis has my heart!

Man with yellow hat not my type. Milo has that Daniel Jackson Stargate vibe that I adore. And the little nerdy glasses get me every time.
